Paul Parker has been hanging off the roof of the East Stand since 1984!!! after Joey decided to do a bit of Bruce Lee on him.

Ach Joey was only being 'enthusiastic'...

Certainly is mate. The family moved there around 1957. Our house was almost opposite Poulters Park gates. The family started ballooning, so we had to move to a bigger house in Middleton Rd.

My nan and grandad moved in from new in 1936, only handed it back 5 years ago when my aunt who'd taken it over when my nan died also passed on, and it wasn't allowed to be passed on more than once. Bit gutted really as no other family had ever lived in the house. We was down Bishopsford Road end, so as close to the training ground as possible really. Breaks my heart when I go back down there now, used to be a beautiful estate and just looks like any other dump in South London now.

We bought Joey Jones for £34,000 in 1982. He played 78 times, scoring 2 goals for us. We sold him for £35,000 in 1985.

When he made his full Wales debut in 1976. Liverpool manager Bob Paisley sent him a telegram and on it it said "Stay out of trouble."

You been through Rose Hill lately mate? total sh*t hole now, i detest the place it breaks my heart remembering just how nice it used to be, proper community spirit, my mum worked in the hospital & after she died, as her funeral procession passed the hospital 100s from the hospital all lined the street to pay respects also the local barrow boys all did a collection, now you'll be lucky to find a shop where the owners speak English & there's no market traders anymore(sigh)

Not going in to details but come two weeks time i wont ever be going back through Rose Hill(if i can help it)

Funny how he was booed on his debut after being sent off, then won the fans over with his attitude and commitment. Loved seeing him home and away during the 2 1/2 years he was here. Would love to see him one day at the bridge for a half time lap of honour.

My wife's Mount Road Mitcham; my family are Wandsworth/ St Helier Estate.

For many years now there' s been a strong link beteen CFC and that wondrous fairyland otherwise known as Mitcham-  Mitcham Royals produced a few Chelsea players, the old training ground, in the early 80s the combined Mitcham/ Morden contingent were a bit of a force firm wise. Very few of those lads still live that way now mind

Not sure when this was taken and who we were playing. West Brom?

I'll hazard a guess and say that's Jim Lewis challenging for the header and that's Johnny McNichol mid picture. Both played for us in the mid 1950's, about the same time as I started going with my old man and uncles.

The old Rose Hill pub got a bit 'lively' at the weekends before it got closed down, and now it's a Co Op supermarket. Your right though, the soul has gone from the place.

Poulters Park, in the St. Helier Estate, used to be packed with football pitches and now there's a couple of rugby pitches and one for hurling! Selby was our local team in the Morden and District League in the 1960's. Some really good players on show and all local lads. I'm sure Mitcham Royals played them a couple of times at the Park.

Look at the state of the Wembley pitch.

Game was played not long after the Horse of the Year show. Not the best surface for one of the top games of the season.

Cheers . Why did they use Wembley for The Horse of the Year Show ?

Sounds crazy all these years later...

Certainly does. Back then, the toffee- nosed, aristocracy usually got their own way so the working class game called football took second place. One of the top riders then had a name which oozed class.... Anneli  Drummond -Hay! I used to tug my forelock every time I saw her on the TV.
