Don't know who's far left and the hairy guy is an Iranian wrestler apparently. John Dempsey's hair is magnificent when he got dressed for a night out did he look in the mirror and think looking good John looking good 🤣

Must be after Dave Sexton got sacked and Ron Suart took over 74/75. Far left must be a junior but don’t recognise him.

Only photo I've seen with Droy sporting a tache. Regarding JD's hair there were several players from that era with comedy hairstyles but I really think hes in a league of his own.

On a special 82/83 either on the way to Barnsley, Rotherham or Derby in the Cup. Took camera to these games but be buggered if I can remember what day this was. Fella on right still goes, im fairly sure the other two were from Kennington

I'm not on Twitter but I do have a look now and again and I was saddened to hear the death of Martin King last week. He was proper Chelsea and I enjoyed his books they had humour in them as well and he would admit if Chelsea came unstuck not like for example that twat Cass Pennant who claims West Ham were invincible RIP Martin.

Gutted. Heard he wasn't well but still a shock

I get an email every Friday from TV Cream which is what old shows are on for the week I recommend it. This week it mentioned The Big Match Revisited and our game against Swansea in 1980 I have no recollection if I was at this game but I was at the one in 79 when we won 3-0. Apparently the 1980 game was so bad they only showed 90 seconds of it the game finished 0-0 and even Brian Moore said it was terrible 🤣

Such a big difference in a year! The 3-0 was 79/80 when we messed up going up by dropping too many points in the last 6-8 games. The 0-0 80-81 was looking good pre Newcastle 6-0 but we couldn’t score  apart from a couple of games in the latter part of the season.

The League Cup game against Sunderland in 1985. A crazy night.

It certainly was. Was in the shed that night. I'd migrated to the seats a few years earlier but everywhere else was sold out. One the fellas in our crowd was so appalled he stopped going for a good while. The seeds of bad feeling were sown in the first leg. Trains and coaches getting smashed up. Didn't go myself but my younger brothers lot who were only 18 hired a minibus and were fighting for their lives after the game. Someone had been to France and they had a couple of crates of cheap beer which they had to use to pelt off their attackers.

Not long after that Millwall ran wild at Luton. Major trouble at Birmingham v West ham in the cup, plus Birmingham v Leeds last day of season, then Heysel.

Probably the high water mark for trouble at football

I went with a mate from work and we stood near the White Wall. I remember the police horses on the pitch and fans chasing Walker. I heard a couple days later that in the players lounge after the match that Speedie punched Walker. As you say a number of spats etc in a short period of time. Then we had the game against Middlesbrough a few years later. Trouble on and off the pitch but not as much as during the Sunderland match.

In 1980 there was the Scottish Cup Final between Rangers and Celtic at Hampden Park. I think that some of my family were there in the Rangers end. A big pitch invasion at the end and loads of fighting. Resulted in lots of changes at Scottish grounds e.g. no drinking in the venues and on the supporters buses to and from matches. Have been on a few Rangers supporters buses and there is always a few people drinking. Police can't stop all the buses and check. I was on a Rangers supporters bus heading to the 1989 Scottish Cup Final. The bus drove past a Celtic pub and was pelted with bottles etc,

Me and my mate jumped the West turnstiles bloke on the gate had given up and was looking at the wall smoking a fag loads of people where doing it. Could have been a lot worse the same as Boro there wasn't any real fighting may have been outside it was pure hooliganism in the ground.
