I was working in Aldgate a few years back and started drinking in a pub run by  a CFC face and proper hard nut who grew up in Charlton.

At the time of that game he had a wrangle on the go flogging Charlton lottery tickets, he was well chuffed when the club portacabin office got torched that day because he owed the club a few bob and all paperwork records went up in smoke.

BTW his pub was the unofficial HQ of the East London Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club. Showed all the games on a dodgy beam back and the place used to get festooned with flags. One afternoon someone was rude to his wife who was serving; he unplugged the telly and said ' Pick up your flags and piss off'

One bloke fronting up a pub of well oiled Glasweigans and they did duly depart.

RESPECT

This is the same bloke who I posted his pictures of Bolton a few weeks ago. Don't know his name think this might be Barnsley 84 Leeds was baking hot although mild compared to today !! so doubt he wore a jumper.

Digging out some stuff in the cupboard and came across this among a few more 2004 programs for games I went to.  As we are on the US tour now I thought it would be fitting as this was our tour with the new manager, some bloke called Jose.  If I remember it was more or less the same program for each game. I went to the AC Milan game after this one...I don't think the new Mrs was impressed having been dragged around the US on her honeymoon...but at least she bought a shirt 🤣

Thanks for bringing back the memory. This was the first picture I stuck up on my bedroom wall. As I was 12 at the time my old man took me to my first game at the Bridge.  It was the only time that I ever sat down to watch a game as we watch from the West Stand.  Chelsea 2 Leeds 2 if I remember.  Cooke was his usual brilliant self and became by far my favourite player along with the 'Cat'

I was at that match, Cafu scored a worldie. Sat next to a Dutch man that told me that number 16 was signed from PSV was going to win us the league. He was not wrong.

Wow didn't know it was on You Tube.  We drove down from Toronto and followed the team around.  Stopped at Hershey and did the Chocolate factory and also stopped by in Reading PA as I was born in Reading UK and always wondered what the Twin town was like when I was a kid. I now know...wow what a sh*t hole Reading PA was.🤣

Great story. Bumped into a good few Reading Chelsea over the years. I'm told matchdays the trains to Paddington are ram jammed

We used to drink with a lot of Reading CFC after the game at a pub opposite Paddington station called I think The Pride of Paddington.

A couple of ours from Lisson Grove, Paddington direction have defected to Millwall because it's too sanitised at The Bridge now for their liking
