October 14, 201411 yr Can't really argue with the Ossie shout. Faves of mine would include Fillery against Spurs in the cup in 82. Not long before half time if my memory serves me- shame about the second half- they tore us up for karzi paper alas
October 14, 201411 yr This isn't football it's a work of art! https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=fHfwvn7bwRQ
October 15, 201411 yr The working man's ballet? 19th November 1977: John Deeham of Aston Villa (centre) tries to break through the Chelsea defence of Micky Droy (left) and Steve Wicks during a league match at Stamford Bridge.

October 16, 201411 yr Author Good site this, http://rbkclocalstudies.wordpress.com/category/chelsea/ including Some CFC graffiti...
October 16, 201411 yr Good website that. People forget that some areas of Chelsea such as World's End, Lots Road and Sands End in Fulham were pretty rough back in those days.
October 16, 201411 yr Talking of Sands End, I wonder what away fans thought of the area, having arrived by coach? You had the gasworks- with broken glass lovingly embedded on top of the perimeter walls- threatening graffiti everywhere, Fulham power station belching out sh*t- Remember being in traffic on Townmead Rd, saw some scallywags come leaping over the power station wall, and run off holding carrier bags- maybe they'd been stealing electricity I don't know. Dodgy, semi slum housing. It' made Moss Side look like Wimbledon Village.
October 17, 201411 yr Good website that. People forget that some areas of Chelsea such as World's End, Lots Road and Sands End in Fulham were pretty rough back in those days. My dad was born (1933) and brought up in Seaton Street in the world's end, always said it was total slum housing then...
October 17, 201411 yr Same with slaidburn street, where the road turned into a shrine for chelsea just before the fa cup. In Victorian times it was called the 'worst street in london' and my grandad who lived there told me it was pretty much slums pre war. Now of course you would need millions to live there.
October 18, 201411 yr An interesting scenario was the Battersea boys, who liked to cross over Battersea bridge at weekends for a night out, but didn't get on with the Worlds End estate and Fulham lads, who used to wait on the Bridge for them- mostly all Chelsea fans by the way. This went on for years until a couple of senior faces saw sense and shook hands, and that was the end of it. That was when a good time was to be found on the Kings Rd. it's a pretty staid place now iny estimation
October 21, 201411 yr Great Zola goal v Wimbledon and some cracking team photos above. Edited October 21, 201411 yr by erskblue

October 21, 201411 yr I still live in Sands end and there's an old bit of Chelsea graffiti, on one of the side streets off my road...Its fading with each passing year and I have a mind to sneak out at night with a spray can and top it up...The yuppies would have a fit !
