It didn't get any better further down the football pyramid either, remember my club had a new kit delivered and the chairman pulled out the outfield shirt which was Chelsea blue, so that was fine, then my keeper shirt was pulled out for its grand premier, and I looked on in horror while my teammates pissed themselves, it was bright pink with yellow stars all over it, during the season, some said I was going to an acid house party, others said a bross concert, a couple said I was like a neopolitan ice cream, but after one game where I was at fault for a goal, someone said an understudy for Mr bobby!!! Those were the days

As a former goalkeeper myself, of limited ability, that is some insult. Even after all these years...

I did check and yes, the Newcastle Utd goalkeeper top for 1996/97 did have an image of the Tyne Bridge on the front of it. A replica shirt of this season is now selling for £70. Yes £70! On a football shirt website.

Indeed. There is something special about the old Bridge. A guy I know is an artist. Think I'll contact him and ask him to do a painting of the photo.

This is interesting a baseball match between the US army and navy in 1917. Is the open end the Shed ?. When was the roof put on the Shed just after the second world war?. As I recall it was put up for cover for the bookies when the dog racing was on.
