A bit off subject but talking of Scottish players of the seventies here's a clip of the former Rangers player Willie Johnston taking a swing from a can of beer before taking a penalty while playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps.

This is the same Willie Johnston who was sent home from the World Cup in 1978 for taking drugs.

Brilliant 'energy drink refuelling' taken by Willie Johnston.:drinks:

Got to say Ersk I always thought the likes of John Wark, Kenny Burns, Joe Jordan and Souness if they weren't professional footballers they would have been on the pitch at Wembley 77. Swigging the obligatory can of McEwan's tartan bitter all day and going home with half of the pitch . Edit: and this Chelsea legend ?

That's kit even makes DJ's tash look cool!!!

'When I took United to Stamford Bridge for what was our final game of the season, I was heartened by the reception I was given by the Chelsea supporters as I took my seat on the bench. The stands hummed with warm applause and The Shed chanted . I was very touched by this and reciprocated by holding my arms aloft and applauding all corners of the ground. The Chelsea directors and their guests were also welcoming- no hard feelings then.' page 311

This was 28th April 1973. Bobby Charlton's last game for Man Utd.

@erskblueThanks for the information. I was in the Shed that day. Southall gave the Shed the V sign after being sent-off.

Info above on Everton game in Oct 85 from the great  bounder friardale site, again

I'm sure the 'domestic tv football blackout' was in force when we played Everton that day.

Just checked.

There was a football blackout for the first half of the 1985-86 season, in the second half, only 13 English club games were shown live.'

Have to laugh at these crowds! I was in the middle of the shed and it was packed, the west stand and benches look the same.
