Any game recommendation?

Just finished up playing resident Evil 6.

Very enjoyable, and you play with 4 different characters. it is a little confused as a game, as you see how the stories intertwine with one another, and yet you have to fight the same bosses again when you do stumble on them again.

Also, the "Zombies" have changed more and more to be basically mutated soldiers that can now tactically track you, and fire machine guns etc.

Now, I think I may go back and replay New Vegas. but thinking of another series to get my teeth into.

Anyone player uncharted 3? I played 2 and liked it a lot. So looking for some second hand games to get into during the winter. Not played any of the Assassin's Creed games either.

Also, I'm not into any of the COD or MOH games any longer. Lover the WW settings, but the modern warfare just doesn't do it for me....am I missing something?

Vaas from Far Cry 3, villian of the year in movies/games? Long time since ive seen anything like it, have to be heath ledgers joker which comes to mind.

People who have played it will know what im talking about!

Bought Assassin's Creed 3 yesterday. It's slow to start but some of the fights have been cool. I need it to tide me over till Christmas day when i can rip open Far Cry 3.

I wasn't impressed with the character. His backstory (I'm intentionally avoiding spoilers, but you know what I mean) had an interesting twist, but the actual character itself was very cliched and dull. Crazy is such an easy anchor for making a character superficially interesting, but there was no depth to Vaas and I didn't find him memorable. I thought the voice actor was absolutely brilliant, though, so I'd definitely give Michael Mando voice actor of the year. Considering the manner and timing of Vaas' exit from the story combined with how shallow he was written, I wouldn't be surprised if he was originally a minor character and Ubisoft were so impressed by Mando that they inflated the role but didn't write much more to actually make such a change meaningful.

Ohh have only played a few hrs so far so that must be why, thought he was sort of the main villain! Will have to judge him better after I finish the game

Ah, sorry, I assumed you had finished the game. You may very well still think he's a great villain when all is said and done. After all, I have similar feelings about the character of the Joker. Ledger did a great job, but I always thought that Harvey Dent was a much deeper and more interesting performance. Essentially you have chaotic evil, which is loud and flashy but ultimately lacking in depth, versus a much more nuanced duality of lawful good and lawful evil. IMO Eckhart deserved Ledger's awards.

Bought a new PS3 since ours was broken. Came with Assassins Creed 3. I have absolutely no idea what's going on.

Steam sales baby! up to 75% off all games. Just got Metal of honour Airbourne (a game I wanted for a long time!) for €5. Got the whole Tom Clancy franchise for €55. COD MW franchise on sale now with %50 off.

I'll have to check out the Steam sale.

One of my mates just gifted me Dishonored. It's really good so far. I would say it's worth checking out.

I bought 3 steam titles last night....

Bastion, Bully: Scholarship Edition and Portal 2...All for about $15 Australian. Very happy.

Prepare to be dissapointed with the ending.

How is Far Cry? I'm thinking of getting it.

I incurred the wrath of my family for locking myself in my room for four hours today instead of 'socialising' downstairs with the rest of the family. I was playing Far Cry 3. It is SIC.

The best things (no spoilers):

The graphics. Best looking game on console. Tropical island looks stunning.

The island setting. Beaches, forests, the sea, mountains; all terrific.

Gameplay is extremely good. A variety of moves, take downs, you can level up skill trees and learn lethal moves.

Animals add a lot to the game. I watched a bear run straight into an enemy outpost and maul two pirates quite horrifically, allowing me to pick off the startled stragglers. A completely random event and very funny!

The bad:

Nothing. Yet!

Buy it!

You're right, the ending to Assassins Creed 3 was a massive let-down!

Just bought Far Cry 3, and Borderlands game of the year edition.  Anyone got anything to say about Borderlands?  It looked like a shoot em up style RPG, is that accurate?  Is it anything like Fallout 3 (the one set around Washington DC)?

Nah, nothing like it. Its balls out blaster with RPG style levelling. But its basically a great laugh with millions of mental guns. Great game though.

Borderlands is the sort of game that's essential to play with friends. As a single player experience, it's quite dull.

I will read that another time, Bueblur.  Just started into it and it's a good one so far.  Looks like it could be pretty massive.  Reminiscent of Dead Island, without the zombies so far.

Thanks for taking the time to read it mad_mac.

I'd also say a cross between Skyrim (in terms of size and scale) and Red Dead Redemption.

Far Cry so far is a great game.  I've been playing a couple of solid days, and I'm mixing up between looting, Relics, Letter finding, and taking on side missions and clearing towers and the pirate strong holds.

the animal hunting etc is great, and then use of the natural surroundings is a great thing too.

I'm mixing it in with the story, which seems pretty good too.  A massive game so far, and thoroughly enjoying it during these short, dark, snow filled evenings.

Glad you ended up buying and enjoying it!

It really is a bundle of fun. Variety is the name of the game and it has it in spades.

I have just got on to the second island- I can't believe there is so much more to explore. Hunting is great, but i always panic when i see a komodo dragon running towards me, even more so than if i have a tiger heading my way. Something about the way they move...

Hang gliding is my favourite past time i think. Nothing better than gliding to the next waypoint, before dropping like a stone into the ocean below!
