March 9, 201313 yr Been playing Dark Souls recently, such a difficult game but a lot of fun. Got my copy of the new God Of War on pre-order and looking forward to getting that next week. Loved Dark Souls. Held of getting it because I've a low frustration threshold but it's so rewarding that you don't mind just how brutal it can be. That said, there were two moments that got me extremely stressed out: The Anor Londo archers. The Capra Demon (really difficult if you've a slow build). Brilliant game though, can't wait for the sequel.
March 9, 201313 yr The capra Demon destroyed me and I though thought i was quite powerful when i faced it. Bloody horrible attack dog thingys too.
March 22, 201313 yr Metal Gear Rising is very good, short story wise though. I finished it in 6 hours and I'm not the sort who normally finishes games quickly, takes me on average at least a week or so. Would still recommend it though, just don't buy it cause it'll be over before you know it and that £30+ you spent will start to look like a huge waste. Rent it from somewhere instead or get it really, really cheap. Edited March 22, 201313 yr by Remodez
March 22, 201313 yr Is it another one of those MGS games where you feel like you are playing short games in amongst a movie?
March 22, 201313 yr No, I actually think they got the balance right this time. It's just a shame that it's too short for you to really get into it.
March 22, 201313 yr Started Mass Effect 3 this week (not played the previous 2) but not finding it too great to play after work because the cut scenes are quite long making it a bit of bore when you just feel like blowing some stuff up. Finished playing through inFamous again this week as well (decided to be evil not good this time) but have kept my save data to finish off the side quests to do some trophy hunting. I've downloaded the second one off of Playstation Plus and will start on that when done with the first one. Geeking it up on the train into work this week too, I downloaded Teken 2 for my PS Vita.

I would strongly recommend getting the previous 2 first before you get into it. You can import saved games from the earlier games and its quite rewarding seeing the story evolve over the 3 games and your decisions in the first game coming back to get you in the 3rd. Its up to you though as I'm very much bias. I'm a big Mass Effect fan! Edited March 22, 201313 yr by BlueDay
March 26, 201313 yr Anyone picking up Bioshock Infinite this Friday? Looks incredible. I loved the first Bioshock, so i'm dying to play this. It has already got rave reviews of 9.10 and 10/10 from a lot of reputable websites.

It has already got rave reviews of 9.10 and 10/10 from a lot of reputable websites. Money is tight at the moment for me so new release are out of bounds for now (Already had to cancel my God of War pre-order) but the Bioshock looks like it could be pretty decent, I've only played the second one and enjoyed that. I've sacked of Mass Effect 3 for now because I managed to take advantage of my local Blockbuster's financial plight by picking up a massively discounted copy of Boderlands 2, very OTT and lots of fun so far.
March 26, 201313 yr I might get Bioshock Infinite, although I'm hearing really good things about the new Tomb Raider. I loved the first Bioshock but got a little bored with the second one, whereas I haven't played a Tomb Raider game since the PS1 days. If anyone here has played it then I'd be very interested to hear thoughts.

Online reviews overall were very positive of the single player campaign but have said the online multiplayer is a massive pile of dog poo. As long as you don't care about the online aspect I'd say it is worth picking it up.

March 26, 201313 yr Ive just finished the latest Halo so I`m looking for a new game and will probably go for Bioshock as I loved the other ones.

As long as you don't care about the online aspect I'd say it is worth picking it up. I'm mostly interested in the single player campaign with this, I tend not play much online these days and Tomb Raider isn't really the sort of game I'd go for online (Team Fortress 2 is more my thing). I should have read back in the thread before my first post really since I just noticed that Dan_CFC has already posted about Tomb Raider and seems to think very highly of it.

March 28, 201313 yr I've been playing Bioshock Infinite. The first hour is absolutely stunning, I'd say it even betters the opening of the original Bioshock. Past that, it's good but not incredible. The combat is a bit simplistic and the criticism of puritan America is far more heavy handed than the critique of libertarianism and self improvement in the first Bioshock.
March 28, 201313 yr the criticism of puritan America is far more heavy handed than the critique of libertarianism and self improvement in the first Bioshock. I appreciate that, the depth of the game and unbeliveable effort put into to creating such an incredible real world blah blah.... Ah who am I kidding, does it have big guns and tits?
March 28, 201313 yr Ah who am I kidding, does it have big guns and tits? It has big guns, and if Elizabeth gets hers out then i'd say it has the latter too.
March 30, 201313 yr Finished Bioshock infinite now. first 2 thirds are brilliant. Final third, it becomes less about exploring a different world and more about moving the plot along and suffers. The combat gets a bit boring too, especially as it has a habbit of throwing enemies at you in waves.
April 11, 201313 yr I've started playing Dishonored again after losing interest for a few months, what an absolutely brilliant game. The only criticism I have is that the supernatural powers you gain can make it a little easy, but you don't have to use them. I guess that's a concession that has to be made for modern gamers who think they are entitled to "beat" a game without the need to put any effort in. Now Thief, there was a real stealth game... none of this teleportation/seeing through walls nonsense there.
April 11, 201313 yr Wish there was a way to sell steam accounts, have many games on there but I don't play anymore. Apparently against the agreement to sell!
April 11, 201313 yr I'm looking forward to some games, all of them funded through kickstarter so no studios are involved to overrule the game developers. But looking forward to the new Thief game that's coming out, never played earlier versions before. I'm also buying Terraria, anyone heard of it? It's like a 2D version of Minecraft really, retro 16-bit graphics. It plays a bit like Worms except that it's sandbox. Digging underground, mining, building shelters and homes etc. It's out on XBLA and PSN for a bargain £10. Edited April 12, 201313 yr by Blueblur
April 12, 201313 yr I finally bit the bullet and bought minecraft....I figured, 25 bucks, why the hell not... I like it :/
