Any game recommendation?

I thought Witcher 2 was completely sh*t. So so linear and stupidly complicated controls.

I've been pretty surprised by the hype of the new one.

Yeah I was also massively disappointed in 2, just couldn't get into it at all, and I usually love those types of game

It's ages since I played it but I seem to remember having to go through 2 or 3 radial menus just to get to a basic spell.

Hopefully they took some inspiration from DA:Inquisition, which is at least a gazillion times better.

I think I'm going to get Witcher 3 but will wait till reviews come out so will probably end up getting it a week or two after release. Looks great. Never played a Witcher game before though so need to learn about the plot.

I had the Witcher 2. And whilst I recognised that it was a good, probably excellent game, I bought it just after I had done about 300 hours playing Skyrim. And in comparison, I didn't find it "vast" enough. Silly really, since no game can hold a candle to Bethesda's hugh worlds.

I ended up trading it in as a result. The Witcher 3 does look good though!

Apparently the Witcher 3 is meant to be bigger than Skyrim. Then again, once it gets to a certain size it doesn't really matter for me, it's all about content as long as it's relatively big. I'm glad it's just one open world as well as I didn't particularly like DA:I's lots of medium sized worlds.

Really?? I'll believe it when I see it! Skyrim was hu-OW-ge!

20% bigger apparently according to gamespot. http://www.gamespot.com/videos/gs-news-the-witcher-3-set-to-be-20-bigger-than-sky/2300-6403410/

3 times bigger according to gameingbolt (sounds unlikely) http://gamingbolt.com/witcher-3-map-size-compared-to-gta5-skyrim-far-cry-4-new-screens-show-different-visual-settings.

Bigger than Skyrim, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption combined according to gamepur http://www.gamepur.com/news/18701-witcher-3-wild-hunt-map-bigger-gta-v-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-and-red-dead.html

Like you, I'll believe it when I see it but the size at least certainly looks promising and I've been very impressed with the gameplay releases.

Anyone seen the Mad Max trailer, looks pretty decent.

Like a Shadow of Mordor type game with cars.

Released 1st Sep.

Looks good and I'll probably pick it up, especially as September is normally sparse for new releases.

Only other game coming out that month is Metal Gear Solid and I've never gotten into that series so Mad Max is it.

Right now I'm just waiting for Arkham Knight to come out.

Tried one of the Witcher games. The combat was horrendous so I quit after the first fight.

Never let it be said you are Mr Perseverence , christ.

Impressive. I'll have to wait for the review though, before seeing whether it is good or not.

Whats the witcher like?

Never played it before.

I'd personally love another Red Dead game and Fight Night.

LOVED Red Dead Redemption. I wrote a very long review about it on my blog. I'm hoping Rockstar are going to make another one!

Will give it a read mate.

I don't think I have ever spent as much time on a game (offline) as I did with Red Dead, it was so different in a great way.

With the power of next gen and PC the scale of the game should be HUGE, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for it to be confirmed soon. After GTA hopefully they are working on it.

Never played Red Dead Redemption but just watched a gameplay video and it looks pretty cool. I hardly ever play my 360 anymore but I might pick it up for a penny plus postage on Amazon. I'll have a read of your blog in a bit Bluebur.

BlueBur? Why thank you, RichardLFC (yuk! I feel dirty) .

Definitely worth getting, especially at a penny!

I actually know someone who works at Rockstar, I should ask him!

Haha!

Which do you think will come next? RDR 2 or GTA 6?

Red dead was like gta for me, love it to begin with, get bored of the "go to a, do b, return to a" but persevere, give up.

It was the randomness of Red Dead just like GTA that I loved.

You could just be looking to skin a random animal then you would come across some bandits trying to kill someone or rob a cart and you could intervene or go by and watch it all. It was like a live environment which you just don't get in many games.

GTA has it in abundance.

Far Cry 3 beats GTA for randomness in my opinion. I love how you'd be driving, see some deer to the side of the road and stop to kill/skin it, then a tiger attacked you and by the time you got back to the car some enemies would just be checking it out and you have to deal with them.

Far Cry 4 even more so where you'd be liberating a tower and look down and see a bunch of natives fighting the enemies then a rhino comes in and kills them all, THEN someone killed the rhino with an RPG which would set the grass on fire and create burnt grass all around, all while you watched and didn't intervene.
