Yeah I agree. I'd love a typical medieval setting like they all are except less magic and more customisable "warrior" abilities rather than magic abilities - with a huge map, good plot and tons to do.

Anyone going to pre-order/get Witcher 3? Dead Island 2? Batman Arkham Knight? Just Cause 3?.

The wife is getting Witcher 3, she's been looking forward to it for ages.

The special edition of Arkham Knight came back in stock on Amazon this week for PS4 so I've ordered it now. Only series I get the special editions for because I'm a bit of a Batman geek.

I long for a game where a character is as customisable as they are in Skyrim, with a Skyrim sized map yet a map as good as Far Cry or GTA with plenty to do with actual good gameplay like Far Cry or GTA.

The IGN team got a 6 hour hands on with Witcher 3 and they've said it's very, very good. 

 

Apparently there's over 100 hours worth of game play. One of the game designers showed them a model of the game where all game objectives were lit on the map and it is rammed with content. 

Dragon Age was meant to be 100 hours of gameplay though but it felt like it was just mash the RT/R2 button for half of it, plus I hate it when you can't jump over a foot high rock/hedge. That's where games like FC/GTA are good - you rarely get that crude reminder than you are in fact playing a video game.

There's Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein, Evil Within and Doom references but no Fallout.

It should be Fallouts turn. They generally rotate between Fallout and Elder Scrolls titles.

 

The Elder Scrolls online comes out on PS4 soon but apparently it's pants. 

My favourite is always the one that isn't the most recent.

Very tempted to pre-order Witcher using Amazon vouchers after seeing the 35 minute gameplay video. Might ways till reviews come out though - hopefully they are before release.

 

Yeah Witcher does good. Hopefully the quality of games this year will increase as developers will have got used to PS4. Lets face it, for the past year we've basically been playing PS3 games upscaled. The only game so far that looks next gen is The Order.

F1 2015 released in June. Confirmed.

I'm more inclined to get Ride than F1 this year I think.

Star Wars: Battlefront will not have space combat, nor will it launch with Prequel Trilogy era settings, vehicles, or characters.

“It’s not much about space,” Patrick Back, General Manager at DICE told IGN. “Most battles are planetary battles, so our focus right now is to make sure we only get that right. The core of Star Wars battles — the Endors, the Hoths, et cetera — you want to take that to perfection. You want to do it right.”

Bach continued, “Space is hard, right? Not from a [development] perspective, but from a logistical perspective. Is that fun? For us it doesn’t make sense to create a battle above you if you’re fighting other players who are not there to fight. Our focus is to do planetary battles.” Battlefront Producer Craig Mcleod added, “No space battles. It’s all about the epic planetary battles and getting that right. Fighting with X-Wings and TIE Fighters, we have that. It’s taken in the atmosphere. This is something we discussed with Lucasfilm and they were happy to be on board with that.”

DICE's Battlefront game is focused entirely on those kinds of battles — X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Rebel Alliance vs. Empire. To that end, Bach outright said “No,” when asked if Battlefront would release with Prequel era content. The team’s goal is to accomplish a sense of authenticity best representing the first three Star Wars films.

Mcleod also explained that Battlefront would not feature planets such as Mustafar and Naboo at launch, and added, "I can’t talk exactly about what the future holds for Battlefront, but I can say we’ll definitely be supporting Battlefront post-launch. We have a long history of add-on content.”

DICE promises to do right by its fans with add-on content. Mcleod concluded, "One of the biggest challenges you have when working on Star Wars is the breadth of it. How do you choose which areas to pick? We grew up with the Original Trilogy. We love it. It’s absolutely loved by our fans. In the new teaser, when Han Solo says, ‘We’re home,’ that’s the feeling we’re going for…. We’ll get that right."

Battlefront will see its first piece of add-on content shortly after release with the Battle of Jakku free expansion"

So many games coming out in 2015 that I want to pre-order but they're all ^£40 

 

Probably going to get two out of Witcher, Batman, Star Wars, Just Cause 3, Dead Rising 2 and Dying Light.

I'm still amazed Star Wars Battlefront was never on released on the Xbox 360/Playstation 3.

 

 

Having said that, me and my kids picked up the two original Xbox games, and played them both on the Xbox 360, I couldn't believe how well they stood the test of time.

Completed the story mode on Dying Light - what a fantastic game, really enjoyable.

See Silent Hill has been cancelled, that’s a huge bummer IMO. The demo was fantastic IMO and the teaser trailer looked fantastic.

Not sure what it means now for Konami and rumours going around are it could impact the future of PES which maybe isn’t a bad thing given the lack of progress in the past decade.

Witcher is a bit of a strange one for me. First one was pretty decent, made me want to play the second one which I did but didn't finish it, took a break for about a year and then went back to it and it was utter sh*t. Just horrible. Couldn't understand why I liked it in the first place. 

 

Not sure what it is but something just doesn't feel right with the gameplay, I hope Witcher 3 is better cause the story is actually pretty good from what I remember.
