Any game recommendation?

What I would say is that games like this need you to put significant hours in and you're going to have to more or less play it exclusively because the worlds are so big that if you take a break from it you'll return to it not remembering how things work or what/where to go.

It's not something that'll you be able to play too casually basically.

Yeah I'll need to ditch GTA online I'd imagine.

Only trouble is Batman is out soon and I'd find it impossible to resist playing that before finishing this.

Least we have options now though after the first year of hardly anything to play.

I wouldn't say you need to play it exclusively - just regularly. I'll probably play it fairly often while still playing GTA V online, FIFA, COD etc.

There needs to be a point where I stop buying games and just finish the ones I've got. I've still got Wolfenstein, Ryse, Dying Light, Shadows of Mordor, FC4 (second play through) to finish, alongside a bunch of online games I play casually like the ones above and Forza/Plants vs Zombies (great game).

The wife is going to be getting the Witcher but i'll watch with interest, open world RPG's with magic etc isn't normally the sort of thing I go for (Skyrim and Dragon Age just don't interest me) and I might play it a little just to see what it's like and I need something to tide me over until Arkham Knight comes out but as soon as that game releases I'm dropping everything and playing the sh*t out of it.

The previous Rocksteady Arkham games were immense and being a big fan of Batman anyway I probably get more enjoyment from playing those games than anything else.

The season pass has been announced and it's pretty pricey at £32 but to be honest for the amount of hours I'll probably put into the game I'll probably get that too.

Yeah I saw an article on IGN about the DLC and how it was a rip off but if you’re going to be putting in the time then it’s basically as good as a new game. I probably won’t get the DLC as I hate paying for things after shelling out £40 on the game but that’s just me being a scrooge.

I loved the ones on the PS3 and now with the batmobile added and no doubt the city being noticeably bigger it will just make the game that bit better and enable us to spend more time on the game which is great. It’s the one game I’ve been looking forward to this year and will no doubt be one I spend the most time on.

With a new addition coming in September I may as well get as much gaming in while I can as I imagine it will be sparse after that!

Yeah I still have Alien and the Last of Us to finish, I bought COD pre owned but hardly play it while FIFA is just for when the friends are over.

Most my time is spent on GTA Online these dyas.

Congratulations my friend.

I've got two kids, the youngest just turned one last month. Gaming is my primary hobby and I still find time to play. Single player games are great because you can play when the kids are sleeping but should they wake (which they will... A lot) then you can just pause your game or save and quit and it's not too much of a hassle. It's one of the main reasons I no longer play online games like Call of Duty or FIFA anymore.

Thanks mate.

Yeah that's some good points, online may be a thing of the past but as you say single players can still be enjoyed.

I'm still determined to have my Weekend fix of football though, I don't think I'd cope without watching us every other week...well live anyway!

Having actually read this article about the new Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, I'm getting quite excited.

London is divided into six boroughs: Westminster, The Strand, The City, Whitechapel, Southwark and Lambeth. The game is 30% bigger than Unity's map.

They've made some key changes; in this game you need to go around liberating boroughs to get the local people from those boroughs on your side. Then you get them to join your gang and take on the gangsters and goons that are causing the locals so much strife. This usually leads to one big punch-up. The emphasis is on hand-to-hand combat in this game, through the use of brass knuckles.

I haven't really enjoyed Unity (probably because it came after the excellent Black Flag, found it quite restricting) but I'm definitely looking forward to Syndicate!

I'm going to try and find my flat on the map...

The only thing that worries me about this is that it's been hardly any time since Unity was released and that was a glitch fest which I didn't find very playable at all.

How much improvement have they made in less than a year to bring this one up to scratch?

I think I'll borrow this one instead of buying to see if it's on the right track.

It's been in development for 3 years, in conjunction with their Ubisoft Quebec Studio.

Didn't know that.

Still quite iffy on it based on the previous effort.

Like PES it always pulls me in but in the end I'm left disappointed.

Indeed, I have made a vow to stop buying FIFA games, since I play them for one month and then never again.

I usually always enjoy Assassin's Creed though, even if Unity and AC3 were a bit of a let-down.

I know I'll buy FIFA 16 and it kills me because it will be drivel after the novelty wears off and you realise it's tailored for kids.

I think it's something about playing with us at the Bridge and in our new kits that pull me in and all reason goes out the window.

I like be AC games, sure some of them I've thought could have been better, but I always enjoy the gameplay, not sure I like the fistfights on this one though, I am a big fan of the sword fighting on AC and the executions you perform.

Did not even know there's a new AC in the works.. unlike most I quite enjoyed Unity, I don't think it was a bad game by any standards.. It was kind of like Bayern's season after the treble, you can't go better than perfect, which Black Flag was.

Was thinking of selling my PS4 since there's not much for me to enjoy these days.. EA have effectively killed FIFA, was planning on buying PES when it comes out but am now considering selling the console. Although this new AC might push that thought back a while.. not many games that excite me these days.

So someone at work claimed yesterday that Dungeons and Dragons was better than Skyrim.

I'm still speechless.

There's only one way to deal with idiots like that...
