Posted June 8, 201113 yr So in the past six months we have seen liverpool invest once again to try and push for that champions league place, a total of 55million on two unproven British players. Its one very big gamble to take, and was just wondering peoples general opinions and views. I dont really rate henderson and the f**king gypsy has had quite a few injuries for a 21 year old. Henderson on the other hand 20mill alot of money, and imo its money that they cant necessarily waste, they only wiill have so much investment. However it could pay off, but how good is henderson really. DO they need another CM?
June 8, 201113 yr haven't seen anything in him to get that excited about...remember his england debut? I know he was picked but that's all i remember! Talksport is on right now and they're raving about it, saying Liverpool have stolen a march on everyone by buying him...i won't be losing any sleep over it that's for sure
June 8, 201113 yr Talksport is on right now and they're raving about it, saying Liverpool have stolen a march on everyone by buying him... They said the same thing about Joe Cole.
June 8, 201113 yr One of my mates is a Sunderland fan and he's gutted about it. Reckons he was one of their best players. Having said that, he also pointed out that whilst he was one of Sunderland's best players, that wasn't exactly a big achievement and that he'll probably not be good enough to get Liverpool to where they want to be.
June 8, 201113 yr Author talksport always get gassed about young english talent. I do rate him but is that good. they cm is packed out now, arent they investing in the wrong areas. Abit like us if we get LuKaku, as much as I want him he isnt the priority
June 8, 201113 yr I heard they were interested in N'zogbia but Wigan insisted they'd only let him leave for a big club.
June 8, 201113 yr I like Henderson, I would have happily paid 10mil for him and have him as a long term player...but 20mil is far too much.
June 8, 201113 yr Well I'm quite glad that they've piddled away that £50 million on Carroll and Henderson.
June 8, 201113 yr Well I'm quite glad that they've piddled away that £50 million on Carroll and Henderson. Me too, 2 decent players who could do well for them, but hardly likely to elevate them above the level they were last season. And does this constitute them trying to buy the league with someone elses money? Or is different because of their `Istory...

And does this constitute them trying to buy the league with someone elses money? Or is different because of their `Istory... No of course it's different. They've really been forced into it by these cup teams who have been buying all their trophies for the last 20 years. It's our fault make no mistake. They said the same thing about Joe Cole. Good point. Also what's all this about him joining Spuds?
June 23, 201113 yr The front page of Soccernet is talking about Stewart Downing being free to leave Villa for Pool if they pay 19m. God I hope that happens...
June 23, 201113 yr The front page of Soccernet is talking about Stewart Downing being free to leave Villa for Pool if they pay 19m. God I hope that happens... I always thought Downing was crap too but last season I was kind of impressed by him. Definitely one of the best crossers in the league right now. Not saying I'd want him in our team or he's near worth 19m though.
June 23, 201113 yr That would be: £75 million on Andy Caroll (1 good season in PL), Jordan Henderson (alright, but nothing special) and Stewart Downing (massive "eh"). And people thought £50m on Torres was a waste... Edited June 23, 201113 yr by BlueSkies
July 6, 201113 yr Add Charlie Adam to that list. 7 million pounds + a player, though it's likely to be one of the more useless players so I suppose it's not that bad. Still, like others have said, he's not a player that will take them back to the top.
July 6, 201113 yr They're an average team making average signings. Why do we care? Because we'd like to see them get relegated? At least I would. ;)
July 6, 201113 yr They're an average team making average signings. Why do we care? I would love to have seen how the dippers would have reacted if it was Woy making average overpriced signings like this while letting their best midfielder of last year go and not their beloved Kenny.
July 6, 201113 yr Because we'd like to see them get relegated? At least I would. ;) I don't think I would. I'd prefer to have them in the top division and having us beat them over and over and over again
July 6, 201113 yr If a player leaving produces a mass shirt burning...perhaps Liverpool leaving the premier league would result in a mass player burning?

July 7, 201113 yr It's interesting that the dippers are buying players with PL experience,I guess f*king Kenny is making a serious bid for the Premier League title?.
July 7, 201113 yr It's interesting that the dippers are buying players with PL experience Well, there's no point for them to buy players with experience from European matches. Better concentrate on the task at hand...
