Chelsea v Bayern Munich (CL Final) 19/05/12 KO 19:45 BST

Featured Replies

Considering the lack of decent right midfielders available to play in place of Ramires, would be out of the question to play Paulo at RB and play Boss on the right of the 3?

-----------------------Cech

--Paulo----Cahill-----------Luiz---Ash

-------------Mikel----------Lampard

--Boss-------------Mata-----------Kalou

-------------------Drogba

Bosingwa's no slouch, we could use his pace up and down the right in a more advanced position, could be something to experiment with on Sunday v Blackburn.

Judging by Paulo's performance at Klanfield, he shouldn't get anywhere near the starting XI on the 19th

Boss has a good shot, but he can't cross the ball to save his life.

Ribery is a brilliant player.

He certainly was. Just like Essien certainly was.

I just think from what I've seen of him this season (and this has obviously been limited to mostly champions league) he can't really be called "brilliant". Obviously he's good, but IMO whoever start at RB will be able to deal with him.

Over a week till the final and i've already got no nails! What am I going to do when it's on TV!? :(

Get down to b&q, you can get a pack of 6 inch ones for about a fiver.

No need to be scared, its ours for the taking!

Here's why....all the omen's are pointing to a Chelsea win..

Because...the last time Atletico Madrid won the Europa League, Blackpool were in the play-off final and Bayern lost the Champions League Final, and all of this happened after we'd won the FA Cup.

The year 2010.... ::ChELSeAFaN::

Plus he would be up against Ribery who really isn't that talented a player and so should hopefully be able to deal with him.

You are either joking or haven't seen much of him.

Reading press interviews by some of our players today has done wonders for my confidence. Despite trying to convince everyone that the Cup final on Saturday v Dortmund is the only target atm it is obvious that all they really care about is the CL Final, as do the fans tbh.

I couldn't really care less about the Dortmund game (although obviously on the night it will be important and I hope we win) and reading what the players think in the press and "Kicker" today it is good to know that they are eager for next week as well.

Looks brilliant, wonder how it will look lit up.

It was going to be half red, half blue but now it seems it will be in uefa's grey, green colours.

People are saying that we won't go as defensive as we did vs Barca, which is probably true. However I don't think we'll be much more attacking.

I think we'll look something like this:

-------------Cech

Bos---Cahill---Luiz---Cole

--Essien--Mikel--Lamps

------Kalou------Mata

-----------Drogba

Assuming Cahill and Luiz are both fit. Even if their not 100% it might be better to field one or both of them instead of playing Bosingwa and Essien/Mikel at the back. Kalou and Mata will drop into th wide positions when defending but I don't expect to see Lampard or Essien busting a gut to join attacks. We'll play on the counter and basically hope that Mata or Drogba can do something special, which they are certainly capable of. If we play our normal style Robben, Ribery and Gomez will deal with us quite handily.

Totally bricking it also. Nothing gets me more on edge than big European games.

I honestly cant handle losing another final

As it looks like Cahill and DL has anyone posted a worse possible XI?

Here is mine

-----------------------Cech

--Essien----Bossy-----------Paulo---Ash

-------------Mikel----------Lampard

--Torres-------------Mata-----------sturridge

-------------------Drogba

That potential back 4 worries me to death. Gomez will have the edge in the air, especially with the service from out wide.

Not feeling confident!

The Brana booking really didnt it for me. He has been so consistent in the CL this year and really is a fighter. Would feel much more confident IF he was playing, then at least if only Cahill or Luiz playing we have recognized center halves playing.

Im a blue for ever but i think those defensive loses may just tip it to Bayern!

You lot will be fine. I think you will be defensive, and why not? Its worked so far, you limited Barcelona severely with all the players they have. Di Matteo knows your players, he knows how to create a team ethic, and he knows how to get results. The team he put up against us (Liverpool) shows that he is putting all his eggs in this basket. And he wouldn't do that if he didn't have confidence in what he was working with.

The problem wont be the players you have on display, the problem will be, can Bayern break you down? Di Matteo has done his homework no doubt, and I have no doubt you will be more of threat to Bayern than they will be to you.

As I witnessed in 2005, anything is possible.

Lol !, not at all. I know many fans all Chelsea, Man Utd, Everton supporters, and I am in the notion of one fan doesn't summarise the rest. I have been to many games and drank with many other people. Its only in the media the lousy supporters gain the attention. There are many good people who support different teams, but face to face, we will mock, we will take the wee wee, but always its in a good nature.
