As we all know, there is a possibility that we could be going to PK's in the next couple of weeks, maybe even twice! I always like to see who everyone would put on the spot for PKs.

Wembley:

Lampard

Cole

Mata

Terry

Drogba/Torres

Munich:

Drogba/Torres

Cole

Mata

Luiz

Lampard

Not sure if he'll be on in either game, but I will say that Kalou has been pretty reliable for us from the spot, but still not sure I'd put him in my top 5. I did this with the assumption that Drogba and Torres won't be on at the same time. If they both are, I'm not sure Torres makes my top 5. I feel infinitely more confident in Drogba from the spot than Torres, although I would like it if Drogba (and Luiz) would get rid of the pause in run-ups, and Mata needs to take a longer run-up instead of that 2-step PK he's done a couple of times.

Thoughts?

Remind me to get my kitchen really dirty, so I have the excuse of cleaning it if/when we go to penalties. The suspense is too much for me.

I wish you hadn't raised the subject :Connie_threaten:

Haha. I am perfectly fine going over this in my head right now. However, if this actually happens, I will be joining you in your kitchen.

Pretty sure this can't happen, if we draw we go through on away goals so all good.

EDIT: Ah bugger forgot 0-0 (and the fact what I've said is bullsh*t anyway ho hum)

Mi kitchen es su kitchen! I have the feeling there will be more people joining us btw...

And I am not a wimp, Moi. I just do a very good impression of one.

If I didn't want to watch a penalty shoot out, cleaning the kitchen would be right at the BOTTOM of my alternative options!

I'd be in the kitchen as well...

Double-fisting whatever alcoholic beverages I could snag from the fridge.

It's pretend-cleaning Moi. For f**k's sakes woman, don't you know me by now!

It's because I do know you that I'm astonished! You should be in the bedroom pretend-shagging Cudicini!

I'm pretend-celibate. Besides, Ace will be with me, it would be awkward.

We;ve gone a bit off topic, haven't we...

Don't worry I'm the same, I spent half the shoot out v Madrid hiding in the bog  .

Clearly, the away goal rule applies to the CL Final.

Doesn't it?

I'd not put Mata on the list. I know he took Frank's place at times this season. But he does the ballet dancer routine, and I think that's suicide. The men selected should all have the straightforward "pick your spot and bang it in" mentality.

Just give the cups to Liverpool and Bayern if we go to pens.

Seriously you guys must know how god awful we are in shoot outs, even when we look good lady luck pisses on the pen spot making JT slip over...

United are terrible at pens too but still did us, whereas Liverpool are the germany of club sides, they never lose on a shoot out, heck they have won a lot of their recent trophies on pens.

And Bayern, well Bayern have many Germans in their side (obviously) and Germans only miss pens when...well when they play for Chelsea! lol

Penalties may just kill me

Though a shootout against Liverpool would be easier than against Bayern.

So now that everyone has gotten their (obvious) feelings out (no one likes penalties!), anyone want to go ahead and pick 5? I made a similar topic about 2 years ago in a summer and not before a couple of major games, certainly got a lot more responses then. :laugh2:

Hmm...

Lampard

Drogba (dispute ACoN!)

Lampard

Kalou (handled pressure of Moscow)

Lampard

I've spotted a flaw in your line-up, Gem. Why put Drogba and Kalou out there? I would suggest Lampard and possibly Lampard.

Thank god Terry's not taking one... :laugh2:

Not in Munich no, but Wembley is a possibility. And I'm sure that after his miss in Moscow, JT will demolish the goal net. I would pick him!

You know what, I would rather lose in extra time than go to bloody penners again. I hate them.

Obviously I wouldnt rather lose, but I hate when we go to penalties, and against a German side just makes it even worse.

You never beat the Germans at pens. Never they are made of ice.

I felt so much more confident on pens when Ballack was playing. You knew that little bit of German could help us.

My penalty takers:

Lampard

Mata

Cole

Kalou

Drogba

Those are our best 5. JT will certainly put his hand up to take one in the FA Cup final, so will Luiz I'd say. But those would be my 5.

You put all your best penalty takers first. Thats the unwritten rule. If you don't, you could risk not even using your fifth taker and in our case our best penalty taker (Frank)
