July 30, 201411 yr What more should the club do? He had a contract and he could of stayed here to develop like any young player. Instead (and I stress that this is speculation as there isn't confirmation yet) he's huffed and puffed his way to Everton to be the big fish in the small pond. That's his choice and best of luck to him. Meanwhile, we'll just carry on and challenge for trophies. I really don't get this guy. Why is he so against fighting for his spot in the team? His attitude absolutely stinks. Yeah. Couldn't have said it better. An absolutely arrogant little boy with a crap attitude. I would have thought after the lousy world cup he had that he would have reeled his neck in a bit and realised that he isn't as big as he thought, but no. I hope he flops. He needs to be brought back to earth because his inflated ego has him hovering waaaaaay above the clouds. Or maybe he wants to be the big fish in the little pond because he knows he's not good enough to compete for a spot here... Edited July 30, 201411 yr by theblueone
July 30, 201411 yr Cherish the thought of what could have been. Now, another young and talented player is gone. KDB, Mata, Luiz, Lukaku all gone. Who is next? In Jose we trust. You keep ignoring my replies to you. He wants to be number 1 striker RIGHT NOW, he isn't ready for that. He should have to fight for his spot, like Courtois is going to do. He wants to leave because he isn't number 1. What are we supposed to do ? keep him here until his contract runs out and lose him for free ? Edited July 30, 201411 yr by Scott Harris
July 30, 201411 yr Source re: his transfer price to chelsea? Haven't found or seen anything concrete regarding the final cost to chelsea. sources suggest 15-18 million was the initial fee paid to anderlecht. July 30, 201411 yr Scott, You keep posting the same thing over and over again. I can't agree with you on it. That's why I don't think there's anything else to add here.
July 30, 201411 yr Scott, You keep posting the same thing over and over again. I can't agree with you on it. That's why I don't think there's anything else to add here. But what is there to disagree with? Lukaku thinks he's better than he is and that he should be number 1 here. We can't offer him that. Prepare to see some petulant comments in the press from Lukaku when he signs for them.
July 30, 201411 yr I agree with you Scott. Ignore Peter Sage. I don't know what there is to disagree with but I'm tempted to ask what the weather is like where his head is. Edited July 30, 201411 yr by theblueone

Prepare to see some petulant comments in the press from Lukaku when he signs for them. Oh I'm expecting it too. He's a little boy with a sh*t attitude. I expect nothing more from him.

July 30, 201411 yr If Lukaku does go surely there cannot be any joy in this for any Chelsea fan? It will mean without doubt Torres is staying. This all seems like another Sturridge scenario and we all know how that turned out.
July 30, 201411 yr 1905, Lukaku is sitting on the plane to sign with Everton. That's the reality. I believe it's a mistake by selling him. If you or anyone disagree with me, that's fine. We all are entitled to an opinion, I hope.

This all seems like another Sturridge scenario and we all know how that turned out. If he's not replaced then it's sheer stupidity from ourselves to get into this situation especially with the quota being what it is. Drogba and Torres are not good enough back up for a team challenging on all 4 fronts not even close. It will take a miracle for Costa to go through next season injury/suspension free.
July 30, 201411 yr I really cant see Jose going into this season with Costa-Drogba-Torres. Look at the fuss he made last season. He must have something up his sleeve
July 30, 201411 yr R.Lukaku Bolingoli ? @RomeluLukaku9 Follow No dissrespect to Arsenal who is also a big club but i don't understand why ozil has left real madrid.... I guess will never know.. hope someone tweets lukaku with a similar question Edited July 30, 201411 yr by Lane
July 30, 201411 yr Really disappointed about the whole Lukaku thing. I think it is a big mixture of Chelsea mis-managing the situation and him being far too big for his boots. Worst thing is that for all of this saga, we'll probably only make a small profit on the transactions. I do hope there is some form of a buyback clause in his deal with Everton though. If he can add an admirable work-rate to his impressive goal returns, then he still has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world.
July 30, 201411 yr I'd love to see us go for Remy now. Well he's going and personally I didn't rate him, up front for WBA and Everton is totally different than playing for Chelsea. He simply is a modern day Fash the Bash!! The world cup proved that against top class defenders he wasn't good enough. We've made some money and got rid of a potential trouble maker. We do need now' to buy another striker and my preference to whats around and premiership proven is Remy. A little bit from left field, but what about Shane Long? he defenately works hard which Jose would like. I'm thinking of strikers that are less than 15mill
July 30, 201411 yr If Lukaku does go surely there cannot be any joy in this for any Chelsea fan? It will mean without doubt Torres is staying. This all seems like another Sturridge scenario and we all know how that turned out. No joy here, just annoyed really. I was hoping Lukaku would want to fight for his spot in the first team. 1905, Lukaku is sitting on the plane to sign with Everton. That's the reality. I believe it's a mistake by selling him. If you or anyone disagree with me, that's fine. We all are entitled to an opinion, I hope. You keep saying that but what are we supposed to do ? give in to his wishes and just make him number 1 striker without proving himself ? i don't believe in player power, they need to earn their spot not demand it.

Drogba and Torres are not good enough back up for a team challenging on all 4 fronts not even close. It will take a miracle for Costa to go through next season injury/suspension free. I really believe the media on this and think Jose has tried hard to shift Torres but there just isn't any takers at the price the club, (not Jose), are probably looking for. Talk of £20 million for Torres is just plain ridiculous. It is the club, and in particular Roman, that has to grasp the nettle here. Make a public statement that there is no future at Chelsea for Fernando Torres and that the club are prepared to listen to all offers.
July 30, 201411 yr I dont know but whole Drogba thing I did not understand. I think it was useless signing and that is what triggered this move. Major issue with the man management here. Really disappointed about the whole Lukaku thing. I think it is a big mixture of Chelsea mis-managing the situation and him being far too big for his boots. Worst thing is that for all of this saga, we'll probably only make a small profit on the transactions. I do hope there is some form of a buyback clause in his deal with Everton though. We all are entitled to an opinion, I hope. Not really disagreeing mate, we just don't have much choice if we want a decent profit.
July 30, 201411 yr If he's scared to fight for his place against the likes of Torres and 36 y/o Drogba then he doesn't belong here. Simple as that. It's a shame it didn't work out, but we will be just fine without him.
July 30, 201411 yr Instead of choice its more of a management. How other clubs are able to convince their players to stay on? This is not something like he is moving to Real Madrid or so. Not really disagreeing mate, we just don't have much choice if we want a decent profit.
July 30, 201411 yr Any reliable journos regarding Chelsea stuff?or do none of em have a clue? At the moment they are all basing it off his tweet. Sky say they have 'sources' as usual though.
July 30, 201411 yr Scott, This is where we differ. I agree, any player coming to the team must earn his spot & cannot expect the team to give it to him. This is correct. However, what Lukaku faced was something he could not have overcome. Lukaku can't challenge Torres even though he is a better player because Chelsea management was not prepared to move this dude. Then there's an unclear situation from last season. Don't tell me you know Lukaku asked for a loan willingly. Now, Costa, Drogba, Torres are Chelsea's priority. What chance does Lukaku have here? None! So, he said, it's better to leave now.
