I was just thinking "there's bound to be a Yaya Toure thread after yesterday's stories".

His agent threatened that he could be bought out of his contract come this summer - that would be ~£25m for a 30 year old player who is quite reliant on pace/power. Plus whatever astronomical wages he's demanding now. Can't see PSG matching that with their 75% tax bracket compared to our new 45p tax bracket (great idea Darling...). Maybe he'll go to Anzhi?

Can't see it happening and despite how good he is I think it would be a bad deal, the guy's ego has gotten out of control since he evolved from Barca benchwarmer to City superstar.

Really shows you how much has changed in football and how sickening it can be to be a football fan.

He's on ridiculous wages already, he's a millionaire several times over, you'd think there'd be a little bit of loyalty from him towards his team?

Not a bit of it.

Where's the affinity with the club, where's the feeling, where's the sense of loyalty, of pride?

Football's really going down the toilet in my view.

"Give me this or I'm off, and I'm off now."

If I were City I'd tell him to sling his hook.

dont like his attitude. i think hes a c***. chalobah can be as good as him

in short, dont want him at chelsea

I rather think Chalobah could well be better than him in time

based on pure potential, yeah he just might turn out even better than yaya. but theres a lot of factors that come into it. will he be mismanaged, injuries, his attitude . . .

Of course, which is why I said he could be rather than he will be

Something is obviously not right at City. Although money is usually the reason for these issues, Yaya is already on 220k per week so it could very well be that he's trying to push his way out because he is not happy with the atmosphere there or some other personal issue he has with the club.

Having won the title last season that should have acted as a springboard to building the squad and the club. Instead they've gone two steps backwards, failed to get out of their group in the Champions League and are miles behind United in the title race.

That, in my opinion, considering their level of investment in the club on all levels is a shocking season.

Their signings this year have been poor and if anything made the squad worse. Rodwell and Sinclair simply aren't top 4 quality and Garcia seems no improvement on De Jong.

Add to that selling Ballotelli and the decline of Nasri and it doesn't make great reading, even David Silva hasn't maintained the level of performance he had last year.

Somehow they've gone from having the best squad in England by a country mile to looking like they are 4-5 players short in the space of a season.

if he was 24 Years old i wouldn't mind him but not at 29 , he would be on 250,000 plus and just be with us for one contract.

Like other posts i would rather give chalobah a chance. People don't realise how good he is going to be , he is 17 years old and has played for England at all levels upto the u21's and will be a future Chelsea captain.

I don't think they're worried about losing Yaya.

They have Jack Rodwell.

Don't forget Gareth "better than Xabi" Barry.

I think Yaya goes where he gets most money. So he will stay at City. In England i think he is underrated. World class at best but at his wages i wouldn't want him.

Certainly don't think he is under-rated. Everyone knows how good he is on his day and he got plenty of plaudits for last season. But IMO he is the perfect example of what is bad about the game these days. Won the league last season but this season he has had some shocking games and at times just doesn't look that arsed and when you are on over £200k a week that is unforgiveable.

Wouldn't want him anywhere near our club. So much so, I would rather keep Mikel!!
