I define "pivot striker" as a striker who can win balls passed by his teamate (whether air or ground) against the opposite defender up front, and pass it back to a pushing teamate backward.

I know mate I hate it, especially when it just describes a regular job of your every day sunday league central midfielder.

I think people use it sometimes to try and show some tactical acumen.

FC i wholeheartedly agree its a pathetic term for a Midfielder let alone a bloody striker ffs.

Pivot is so last year, I prefer to talk about the midfield fulcrum.
