Guardian article. Mourinho & Utd

Featured Replies

There's a mention in the thread about his return, basically the bloke who wrote it has never actually spoken to him and it is all second hand Supposition.

The claims come in a book written by a journalist who has been a fierce critic of Mourinho.

The book is called "Prepare to Lose: The Mourinho Era" which tells us all we need to know.

I guess this might boost book sales.

If Mourinho cried, that begs two questions ..

1. How does the author know? Was he in the room?

2. Why had Mourinho come out prior to Moyes' appointment and said (after defeat to Dortmund in the CL semi) he wanted to go back to where he was loved?

We'll never know if Jose wanted the Utd job, and it's entirely possible, but these claims are just nonsense, IMO, and are all part of a personal vendetta.

Edit: It comes as no surprise however that The Guardian have made it their top story in the football pages.

Who knows? Who gives a f**k? Seriously. We have Jose and Man United don't. Simple as that.

He claims he's at the club he loves, he insists that Chelsea is 'his job'. Must we be paranoid like some insecure teenager, questioning our girlfriends love for us?

Mourinho is Chelsea. That's that.

Stopped reading after I read the title of the book and of course the fact that it came from a journalist in Spain...

Great to see Jose keeping a quiet tone this week. After AVB mouthing off all week, it is nice to see Jose take the high road.

Now lets wipe the pitch with them Spurs this Saturday and win big!

It really doesnt matter, I bet united fans are wishing they got Jose now instead of Moyes.

Jose would have destroyed the league with the current United team. With Moyes they might finish in the top 4.

You really think so? I don't. That current Utd squad really isn't all that. Bar one or two obvious players, I wouldn't swap too many of their players for ours and I think City and Arsenal also have better squads right now.

I think United have a strong team and they have most of have been playing together for a long time. There is a real solid core to their team.

City do have great players but like us they dont seem to play like a team just yet. Dont get me wrong they are very good and can possibly win the league this season but they can be better imo.

Arsenal? you are kidding me right. Ozil is the only player i would take over any of ours.

Going back to United. With Jose in charge of that set up without having to start from scratch i think he would walk the league with that team much like they did last season.

I think there is a lot of work to do with our team. We have a very unbalanced team. No great striker, very good attacking Mids, not great but ok deeper mids and a pretty good defense.

I think we wasted a lot of money this summer getting in players that werent needed and not bringing players where we needed the cover.

This isnt Jose's fault of course but it will take another two transfer windows to correct imo.

Now i realise i have gone off topic here so i will stop now.

Wut? He's got a better team here mate.

Complete bullsh*t; he may have felt sad that Fergie was leaving football. Jose can be emotional and was an admirer of Fergie not Utd... I would understand upset  but cry ? not his style what so ever.

Also the fact that when at Inter and Real there is one club that he consistently mentioned and wanted to return to one day and that was us

He has better players but not a better team....yet. Right now we arent playing like a team, we havent clicked. Not sure if that is due to Jose's tactics or if the new players havent fitted in yet but right now we are playing like a bunch of players not like a team.

Here's your answer:

"Mourinho wouldn't stop calling them. His 'interlocutors' had heard him sob loudly and they were spreading the word.

They (this journo's sports agency) were -  allegedly - ON THE PHONE to him. They heard a noise. They equated that with SOBBING LOUDLY. And then told this Mourinho-hater about it. And he decided to use a totally imagined, unsubstantiated (there were NO WITNESSES)  piece of gossip to boost sales of his book.

You couldn't make it up. Well, you could, as they have.

2. Why had Mourinho come out prior to Moyes' appointment and said (after defeat to Dortmund in the CL semi) he wanted to go back to where he was loved?

Umm. Well. Umm. I don't think the tosser has even bothered to address this point.
