Peter Bonetti who made 600 league appearances in during 1960-1975 and his second spell in 1976-1979 and won numerous trophys with the club including including the 1970 FA Cup and the 1971 Cup Winners' Cup turns 72 today. He was about 30 years before my time but I as much as I have read he's truly admired by many of the posters on the site and he's record for the club speaks volumes about himself. Let's wish him a happy birthday.

Happy birthday to (imo) our greatest keeper Peter Bonetti..i put this on another thread but will relate it again....it was written by a young fan early 70s and put in a programme in that time...strangely i always remembered it                                                                   peter bonetti the greatest of all

  jumps up and down to catch the ball

  he dives on the ground as tho its a mat

  thats why they call him peter the cat

  he dives thru the air for a spectacular catch

  with speed and agility no one can match

  so for me its easy to see

I'm only 29 so this is going to sound weird but Peter is one of my favourite Chelsea players just watching highlights of him in action was fantastic, Happy birthday Peter.  WE ALL AGREE THAT PETER BONETTI IS MAGIC.
