Schurrle playing as a striker is a completely different kettle of fish. He should still play as a Winger / Inside Forward for me. Why change his position after he gets a hat-trick?

Torres is in decent form but I would rather see Eto'o play this one. 

Because we'll be getting a good striker next year, I'd rather just let Schurrle play on the wing (or as an inside forward) than having him play more as an ST for the rest of the season. Better for his development

It's at home, so Eto;o should start, he only scores at home.

I think this talk of Schurrle as a centre forward is reactionary to our terrible striking options.  He likes cutting in from wide and he actually has an excellent cross as well.  He isn't very good at hold up play.  I'd go with Eto'o up front.

As usual we can easily take off Oscar for Luiz if necessary but I don't think Spurs will overrun us in midfield.

Because it isn't his position.  He can do it, but that isn't what his game is about.  Playing off CB's will blunt him in my opinion, like it did against United.  I think that's why we haven't seen it since.  Eto'o isn't prolific but his movement is good, it creates space for the likes of Hazard and Schurrle to find those channels.  He can also receive the ball in tight spaces and play smart linkup play with Hazard in particular.  Schurrle wants to run onto balls, not have them played into him when he's between two CB's.

I'm with coco, Want to see him up top, he has the movement of a striker and his first thought seem's to be "were is the goal"

 

Also with regards to the united game that was more about the way we were set up, with him having to work of long balls from ramires.

 

I heard on this forum that he used to be a striker for manzis.... he's wouldn't be a traditional target man but he would be able to play in tandem with the AM's .

Emmmm playing as a classified striker is a whole different ball game to playing as a wide player who comes inside. Torres and eto don't get the goals we would all like but more often than not they put in a good performance and help the team in some way. I really can't see schurrle doing any better if I'm honest. Keep him out wide where he is confident and we have a very good player on our hands.

Glad we have a full weeks to prepare for this one. Should be fresh and raring to go.

what I expect from him is this - cold blood in front of the goal. He is not a guy for whom the goal becomes very small. He is the kind of guy who in front of goal is normally cool. He is a finisher. He sees the keeper's reaction and he can do it with the left and the right foot. I expect him to score some goals.'

Regarding the position thing I.e winger Not striker we heard the same things about sturrige, we all know how that one turned out..

Torres gave Tottenham a real nightmare at White Hart Lane and I think he'll do the same here. Schurrle must start this game in place of Oscar, if he's on the bench I'll bust a nut. 

Have a good feeling about this one, just mark Adebayor out of the game and Tottenham are largely toothless. Not sure we'll keep a clean sheet but we'll take the three points from this.

By that reckoning you could say 3 years for Torres and it hasn't panned out, maybe we should try him on the wing
