Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

What a result!

The things I have seen and heard said about Costa in the media are an absolute disgrace.  In any other walk of life it would be considered slander and libel, why should this be tolerated just because he is a footballer?  This is more than banter and I have found some of it offensive.  It's also pathetic as the press behave as a spiteful, narrow minded teacher who can't let a pupil turn a new leaf.

Still reeling from last night, the tension was not good for an old boy's ticker, but how the Blue fans made me teary eyed.  (Bows down to all who were there.)

Costa has earned the right to be on the pitch, and to play for a team like Chelsea, unlike the 'fast tracked' Oliver who from now on should wear a full wetsuit and flippers he was so out of his depth; not forgetting a recycling bank for all those bottles he lost.

The fact is that the campaign against Chelsea is relentless both in the newspapers and also on TV. The papers in particular love to stir up hatred against our club. The media are complete scum in my opinion.

I don't know if I'd call it a campaign but we certainly do get a seemingly unfair share of bad press. The good news is that everyone with two brain cells knows that the football media in this country (with the exception of a handful of elite journalists) has absolutely no credibility in its reporting. Even BBC Sport now parades rumour and innuendo as genuine news... things have to be pretty bad for me to look back on Caroline Cheese as the 'good old days'.

I like how the pictures of him and Skrtel squaring up make it look like Costa is giving him a nipple cripple.

It's patently ridiculous, no team ever got anywhere without a brilliant c**t in their side. From the way it's being portrayed, it's like he's the new Duncan Ferguson...

He will get done for the stamp on can and deservedly so. The skirtel one where else was his foot meant to go when he jumped in the air?

I've been amazed that it has taken till the end of january for him to finally crack and over step the line. Love his aggression and passion but he is always going to miss at least 6 games a year through suspensions that's what we knew when we signed him though. Unfortunately it looks like he is missing our biggest game of the season.

Remember when we all use to laugh at liverpool fans for defending the indefensible over suarez? Let's not do the same

What a ridiculous overreaction once again to something to do with Chelsea. The influence the media has on football is a joke.

Costa may well have meant the "stamps" but it's hardly the worst thing i have seen in football. After looking at it again he doesn't even stamp, all he did to Can was put his foot on him, i have had that done to me plenty of times and it doesn't even hurt. At most that is a yellow card for me. A two footed lunge or someone rakin their studs down the achilles of a player is a lot more dangerous than someone putting their foot on a players shin. After looking at the one on Skrtel again it is hard to prove he did that on purpose, you cannot be 100% sure either way so he can't be done for that one.

The media has been waiting for this since Costa joined us and their reaction to it is ridiculous, as it always is when it comes to us.

Hard to disagree with that in fairness

I like the Stampford Bridge headline the most,

F the red biased media

I for one am glad we have a centre forward who don't take no shyte especially from the Dippers

lets face it they got away with tons of physicality in both legs, sh*tkall being the biggest C of all

Henderson & Lucas will play at the weekend for the dippers while CFC top scorer will undoubtley get

a 3 match ban- wheres the fairness in that FA ? there aint none, just like TSO getting another 25K fine

for exposing the same media campaign that is now in full force vs Diego

Jamie like his old man Bacon-face is a complete and utter TWAT

What I do find funny is some of the comments made by the dippers regarding Costa on social media, especially after defending that racist flesh munching rat for the past couple of seasons! Nothing surprises me with that lot though. Maybe our players should wear Costa t-shirts during the warm up for the City game?

I don't think I've ever actually cared what the papers write about players though, can't stand the type of people who go by the bollocks written to fill column inches of some rag.

Think we're all going to have to accept Costa is going to be a target for the media for as long as he plays for us.

If he behaves himself they will back off of him, they have to.

Every player will be continue to wind him up as his fuse seems so short.

I've just watched the 'leg stamping' for the umpteenth time, imho I don't think there was much in either by looking at Costa's eyes, the flow of the body already in motion and so on. One may have been, but it just as easily may not have been.

He was all over Gerrard though and I am a little ashamed to admit this, but I would pay good money to watch Costa pummel him.

Thing is it's in his nature to do the things he does. What's funny is that he's actually calmed down compared to what he was before he was in the limelight :laugh2:

To be honest he has behaved himself overall and they still book him. Half of his bookings have been incorrect decisions.

To be fair you're right, he has behaved himself just fine until we played Liverpool. I think we can all deal with that if he saves it for them every time

And not awarding one of the most obvious penalties.

Exactly, I'm surprised so many people are saying that it wasn't intentional, if this was another player everyone would be saying it is definitely intentional.

As much as the replays make it worse, he obviously knew that his foot was there.

He should have been sent off for what he did to Sigurddson, I have no idea how he escaped that, the only thing the media have been really kind to us with, they could have made a lot of it but they didn't thank god.

He didn't really do anything to Sigurddson. They were pulling each other in the penalty area and when Diego Costa stopped, Sigurddson continued so Diego Costa threw him to the ground. It was nothing.
