Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Disgraceful behavior from him, not only could he have cost us the match but I can't see him surviving by the F.A. here. Not to mention we have games at City and Villa next, not easy games for us.

That's all I'll say about the matter before I get some sleep.

We are in the final! Get in! We also avoided a scouse invasion.

Yep, mixed emptions here as well. He won't get away with that every time. He could've been sent off twice. If that happens in a CL tie .... don't dare to think about it.

Don't see what all the fuss was about.

1st one wasn't a stamp, no matter how much Sky repeat that it was. He stood on his foot, he didn't stamp on it. 2nd one he was jumping over his legs and trying to stay on his feet, no way they could prove he meant to do that. And the Gerrard one was 50-50 and they were both booked.

Love the guy's passion. Shame he didn't manage to score though and rub it in Skrtel's face.

Agree 100% with this. if skrtel escapes punishment for that elbow, then so should costa, as it's impossible to prove intent in either incident.

He meant it, he knew his leg was there.

The Skrtel one I don't think so, I don't see how any player could be punished for that.

But if that was Suarez doing that to one of our players there would be hell on lets be honest.

It's nice to see them c**ts get a taste of there own medicine though it is, but we should be better than that. I suppose this is what we should expect from Costa, we knew of his type of behavior before he came, it comes with pros and cons I guess. He is fearless, but he is also reckless I believe, I hate Liverpool but this certainly isn't a game to do it in, not saying there is a game to do this in at all, but we have important fixtures and I can see him getting banned for this.

Rightfully so tbh.

i disagree, in slow motion it looked a lot worse. but in real time it was nothing. If he gets a ban for that, it will be disgraceful. Plenty of players have gotten off with much much worse.

I agree Blue, the Aguero decision still baffles me to this very day.

And I'm used to all the media bull sh*t, I know it's them who make the decisions, the more Sky talk about it the more likely it's going to happen.

But I'm not bothered about that, to put morals aside here, it's stupid from him regardless, not to think about the future ban just in general but had the referee of seen that the game would have gone bye bye in the early minutes.

Anyway I'll stick to what I previously said, I wont say too much on the matter tonight, I'm delighted to get in the final and I need some sleep.

Really put in a performance tonight, especially from half time onwards. A lot of talk about the 'stamp', if he gets a retrospective ban il be pissed off. Didn't think he meant it, and if it had been another player, nothing would have been mentioned. I also wonder what brendan rodgers whispered in emre can's ear, that made him make a meal of it, and square up to Costa.

Literally gets mentioned all the time when any player does it.

I personally think he knew what he was doing, if he can't see Can's feet from where he is, or at least know it's there, then he must be blind as a bat. It's within his peripheral vision, there's simply no excuse and that's why I wouldn't be surprised if he was hit with a ban.

It literally doesn't. How many times has there been a suspected stamp on a players foot this season? Probably quite a few. How many times has this then been followed by a players previous misdemeanours? Very very rarely.

The last time there was this much coverage of a disciplinary incident, it was Suarez biting another player. there is no way this is the worse thing that has happened since then.

in fact, how much was made of cahill's stamp on kane last month? Not a great deal really, certainly not to the extent that costa is being scrutinised.

Costa's has been unfairly judged because of his reputation since he arrived. He's been unfairly booked on a few occasions. Now he has upset the media darlings, it's turning into a straight witch hunt.

I loved it when Stevie Me tried to have a go at him and he stood there, brilliant, he's a winner, I think he works very hard at containing his natural instinct which is to punch the other players lights out. We knew he had a nasty streak in him and its what makes him the all round player he is, defenders are wary of him. I'd be more than happy to have him next to me in the trenches that's for sure.

As for the retrospective on the alleged stamping then we'll have Sky to thank for that. The commentators and pundits were so biased towards the under achieving scousers that it was embarrassing to listen to. Lets hope Jason Cundy rips into Bitterpool on talksh*te later tonight.

Not very very rarely at all, Charlie Adam just a couple of games ago being one example. Last season (or was it earlier this season?) it was Yacob, I even remember when Kompany got some stick for it.

I don't think the coverage has been that bad but that's going past my original point really. I'm not disagreeing that Costa gets unfair treatment at times, I'm just saying it gets mentioned when any player does it, coverage and such depends on various factors.

He meant it but they'll never be able to prove it, wasn't looking at the man on either occasion so how can you prove intent?

Great performance from him, love that he is hated but rival fans, it means he is doing something right.

Sleep well. And hopefully when you wake up you'll realise that Diego is actually a big teddy bear. He's just misunderstood because of his granite face. Put him in any team and their fans will instantly fall in love. I wouldn't change even one tiny little thing about him.

In both instances ..

Diego didn't look down at the leg.

He didn't alter his stride one bit.

He didn't put any extra force into his landing.

Can't see how he can be banned, even if he knew what he was doing.

Crkey, he's even better than I thought.

No it doesn't. Ageuro deliberately stamped on a West Ham or Aston Villa player a few months ago and nothing at all was said about it.

If you want to talk about Aguero. The c**t escaped punishment from this horror tackle. And I'm still bitter about this match.

Fully agreed. After watching the replay you can see he was fully focused on the ball. I really don't think the contact was deliberate or malicious.

Over the 2 legs Costa and Skrtel had one hell of a battle. They shared a hug at the end like 2 boxers after a punishing 12 rounds. I think that says it all. Mutual respect.

Nothing at all? It was mentioned by various news outlets and his stamp on Luiz was brought up.

As the media campaign is incessant and everyone hates us it's an absolute given that Diego will be punished by the FA. Sure as eggs are eggs. So the questions are; how many games can he be banned for in a retrospective case, when would the ban commence and can it be delayed by an appeal?

I think he fully intended the one on Can, but the one on Skrtel I think he was more focused on getting the ball.

Don't really like the thought process of "since he's our guy we need to defend him even if he wrongs".
