Controversial newbie?...

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm a newbie to Chelsea fc, I used to be a supporter of fulham but didn't follow football all that much I love that part of London and so they're the team I decided to support. My connection with Chelsea was that I saw a match against staue Bucharest it must've been last year?! It was electric and I loved it and that's why I've chosen to support Chelsea. I stopped supporting fulham not because of a drop in form, but because I've seen a decline at the club for years and I believe the owner doesn't believe in the club, I don't want to pay for me and others I pay for to watch a club that doesn't respect it's supporters by investing and showing that they care. I would like to ask about your opinions on this decision? I hope that I am accepted as a supporter soon enough...

I welcome you, and I'm sure everyone else will to, as long as you support the club then you have good reason to be accepted.

Nope, you don't pick and choose teams like that. Get yourself back to foolham till its their turn to make their fans happy.

Goodbye

Doesn't work for me either.

Why should we accept you because you see a decline at YOUR club? Many of us here saw a decline in OUR club, which on more than one occasion was in very real danger of ceasing to exist.

You're nothing better than a rat leaving a sinking ship. Or maybe you're on a windup.

Either way, get the f**k out of it.

Obviously this won't mean a lot coming from a [relatively] young fan of a team who are riding the crest of a wave, but on-pitch decline doesn't matter - ultimately it is the fans who make the club.

What was the final straw mate the taking down of the Michael Jackson statue?. I hate people like that you support your club for life and don't change on a whim. Utter tosser do one.

My partner has True Blue blood running through her veins so is natural that I follow 'The Chelsea' too. We follow our team through thick and thin. Good and bad and wouldn't change for the world. You can't change just because you're club isn't doing well it's that simple! I'm a disabled supporter and been to Stamford Bridge several times.

Experience will teach you that when you have a past you are ashamed of, it's best to lie through your teeth!

This raises something touched on before in another thread, and something I saw written by a Liverpool fan who stated only people from Liverpool can support Liverpool (really, they did).

Valid points from you all. Slawth, you're a nice guy. Moi, yes sad but true and in my experience even if teeth have been lied through the truth comes out in the end and seems worse because of the initial lie. I'd prefer to say to Blues123, best not to be an 'early revealer'. Sad to be penalised for honesty.

Well, I suppose what I really meant was to lie by omission. We all make mistakes in our youth.  Best to gloss over them sometimes!

But indeed, your honesty is commendable, Blues123 - so welcome!

There are just so many things wrong with this post, I just highlighted the main points which stuck in my craw.

Call me old school/old fashioned but you strike me as being a typical example of recent 'converts' to the game. No personal offence intended but your whole approach and attitude stinks. I for one hope you (and your ilk) never set foot inside Stamford Bridge. You clearly don't get it, so please do yourself a favour and stay away.

For what it's worth I happen to think this is quite possibly a wind-up, and not a particularly clever one at that.

Sorry but I hate this concept of changing teams because the team you used to support was in turmoil and you can't hack staying with the one side.

Chelsea isn't just a team, it's a part of me and has been since the day I was born and will be until the day I die and I'm sure the same goes for nearly everyone who supports their respective clubs whether that's Chelsea or someone else all together.

are you per chance an american?

Not everyone is a die hard supporter of one football club, if you like Chelsea more at the moment, be my guest and do what you want. I do agree there's a couple things in your post that are a bit outrageous, As long as you support the club why not, but you must understand you will not be accepted as supporter just like that. If the football club I love brings joy to you, I'm more than happy about it.

I think you grumpy old men have scared hin off!

If he truly loves Chelsea we must let him go. If he comes back to us, he's Chelsea's forever. If he doesn’t, then it was never meant to be.

Surprised no one has mentioned the clichéd Harry Potter quote, so I might as well- "You don't choose the wand. The wand chooses you. "

um.. that could be because we're adults!
