Areas you see a lot of Chelsea fans

Featured Replies

Very few of us on the Peckham/East Dulwich border. It's Millwall as you'd expect but mainly Arsenal, United and worst of all Liverpool. Watching a match against of of those in a pub we're seriously outnumbered.

Going back a long time now, but there were a few Chelsea from Ashford, move out from Bermondsey and the like, and I'm sure I remember a regular little mob coming up from Orpington. Margate was Chelsea's traditional Bank Holiday day out/weekend away.

And then of course there was Tunbridge Wells. And they all behaved themselves, according to the song they sung...

I live in Ashford now there are few Chels around my age who used to go most of them are local a lot of the ex Bermondsey families are Millwall but as usual with Kent towns the majority of fans in pubs are plastic Scouse , Mancs or Gooners

All these area's were & still are staunch Chelsea.

Carshalton

Sutton

Mitcham

Wallington

Worcester Park

Banstead

Belmont

Wimbledon

Kingswood

Kingston

Raynes Park

Mitcham

Agree. I am on the edge of Sutton / Carshalton all Chels round here.

Was born and grew up in Fulham, and lots of lads I know from early 80s live in this area, but we're all older and fatter now

any where round from twickers right round up to the elephant /old kent road border was mainly chelsea.  stockwell, brixton, camberwell, balham, crystal palace, anywhere  up to the walworth road. other side of walworth road is futting millwall. croydon is still split 60/40 palace/chelsea bromley is a always been a mixed bag, wallys, chels, and palace.

When I was in Dover, which I think is in Kent, I saw a few Chelsea fans and even got a tiny discount at a local electronics shop, buying a large capacity USB, because I was wearing a Chelsea top and sporting a Canadian accent.

One of my local universities has become a hot bed suddenly with many wearing Chelsea kits.  Might have to order some of those spiffy CFC ties and cufflinks

All these area's were & still are staunch Chelsea.

Wimbledon

Kingston

Raynes Park

Most familiar with these areas, grew up in Kingston, went to school in Wimbledon and now live in Raynes Park. The pubs we go to are all Chelsea more or less.

As far as Wimbledon is concerned, was there a big divide back in the day between how many supported Chelsea and how many supported Wimbledon? I remember when Wimbledon were still around back in the late 90's, earl 00's and to be honest I don't really remember seeing many Wimbledon fans around at all.

As far as rivalries go as I understand it we never had much of one really with them?

Live in Raynes Park now, and Wimbledon before that. Many Chelsea in both these but Id say there's more a little bit further out ie Worcester Park, North Cheam.

Theyres also bundles round Bognor, Pagham and Selsey. A lot of SW Londoners holidayed in the caravan parks down there, liked the area then decamped there permanently.

Ps lost me cherry in a static caravan in Selsey. Only the other week it was too!

As well as Harrow there were loads of Chelsea in Wembley and Kingsbury, The Preston was a good Chelsea pub with a few Gooners and a couple of y*ds.

I remember an FA Cup at Harrow Borough against Newport when it went off alarming, loads injured in the main bar. It was local Chelsea and West Ham, who had a following in Rayners Lane.

CB- weren't there meself but told Spurs were late and a lot of ours had gone home by the time they bowled up

Ive never heard that mate, did hear the y*ds were proper tooled up though, cant complain seeing as we were one of the worst for carrying.

Its always been like that mate.

Hardly any Chelsea in Kent that I know. Plenty of Arsenal, some Charlton, some Gillingham and the usual Man United that you get everywhere.

Not going in to details mate but some naughty CFC faces reside out in Kent.

Also noticed how Paddington was mainyl Chels (I think) while neighbouring Notting Hill was QPR. This was when Notting Hill was working class btw. Now they probably sit in the West stand upper at chelsea when the theatre is sold out.

Parddington was chelsea. Ditto Lisson Grove, Harrow rd, Mozart estate etc. Old mate of mine was Labroke Grove- reckons it was 50-50 CFC- Rangers. In terms of FV it always suprised me we didn't have more well known bods from north of Fulham ie Shepherds Bush, North Kensington, Kensal Green etc- Kilburn, Wembley excluded. There's a big rough area from Hammersmith to Kilburn which traditionally was mostly CFC yet can't think of many top boys from over there. Other than a little chap who got pulled after Cardiff

The North London Tavern (Kilburn) meeting place away games in London. And anyone who went to West Ham 86 night game will remember and send a shiver up the spine the amount of the ICF carrying and using blades.

Wimbledon overall mate was always staunch Chelsea as far as i'm aware, obviously you had local Wimbledon fans, but dont forget they were non league until the mid 70s, Chelsea used to turn out for them in some games in the 70s/80s, they had Leeds at Selhurst in the fa cup in the mid to late 70s & half of London turned out for them so i was told.

Wimbledon v Tottenham in the fa cup at Plough Lane in about 87 also saw loads of local Chelsea turn out for them, myself included.

I used to drink in Wimbledon in the early 90s & got to know some Wimbledon lads that went everywhere with them, they were decent lads at first but then a few of them started getting lemon, one lad was always decent but because of the others we went our own ways.

i have gone over this before, but nw london always had a large and good cfc turn out, from the 70s you had from w1 area , Cleveland st , the little estates around soho, covent garden to holborn and at the back of kings cross

( as a good firm of west ham found out one night, they got off at great portland street on the way back from a game, and were gong down west, when they went on a bully up at the tower pub on cleveland st,8and came unstuck big time )

then my old estate cumberland market nw1, were in the 70s, thats were a lot of the kilburn and egdware rd cfc use to knock about due to the clubs and pubs around the area, we use to use and meet up at the green man and Albany pubs, as they were next to great Portland st station, always a good turn out from around that way, still is

then you got swiss cottage, up to west hampstead and cricklewood as well,

suggs was always around our area before the band broke through, we went on the coach to man u with sh 77 ?

one side of Euston station all the way up the edgware road, paddington to hendon, then the west end was cfc,

the other side of euston, somes town was spurs, and a very good firm of them as well, they use to meet up with the Richmond yids and were at new malden when they done the cfc as mention earlier, but the yids did bottle out of the meet the week before, as the yids sad they didn't have the numbers, plus the night they done cfc were tooled up to the teeth, even had a sword and axe up front, but they got the result end off,

Interesting stuff. By the way hope I didn't come across as derogatory in what I knew, or didn't know about that part of town. Ps know a couple of CFC who are Oxford St traders out of Lisson grove. Top people

In a nutshell:

Chelsea's here, Chelsea's there

Chelsea's every f**king where

La la la la

La la la, la laaa

Oi Oi!
