Out of interest, what sort of internet speed are you acestreamers getting? I really struggle with SopCast buffering so can't imagine AceStream will be much better for me

Was getting up to 100 mb back home

Now I'm at student halls and supposed to be getting 15mb, I'm sure I'm not even getting 5 mb

Ridiculously poor

If you're using Google Chrome for your web browser just type "ad blocker" into the Google search bar and it will come up with the link to their browser ad blocker from there and just download it and then it appears as a "Stop" icon in the top right of your browser window to let you know it is active.

I don't know for other browsers but I assume it would work along the same lines.

Good shout on the adblocker, I just went onto firstrow and its nice to use again!

Hahaha I'm on 4mb, the absolute maximum in my area  :laugh2:

Just remember to disable it for this forum and other places you like

can't you add exceptions to adblocker, rather than disable it?

Basically go on the home page of the site

Click the ad blocker button

then click "don't run on pages on this domain"

That way ad block won't run on any pages within the home page (permanently until you re enable it again)

One my Sopcast software, there was an advert saying "Life is short, have an affair". I kid you not. Great advice.

The ad blocker worked a treat. I only had one ad instead of the usual 5 or 6 and that was just a white box with the close x on it.

I tried Acestreams last night, albeit rather briefly, even with my (upto) 75mb connection there was constant buffering.

The picture quality was indeed better but the links weren't stable... Ended up watching on firstrow and had a good stream.

You have to find a Stream with peers.

I had connected to 6 yesterday and worked a treat (al beit in Russian)

For me I would rather have a worse picture but no stopping or buffering than a perfect picture and it keeps stopping.

I prefer to have a high quality picture without constant buffering, but I'm funny like that.

Too frustrating for me, especially when it starts buffering just as we're creating a chance on goal... The suspense kills me.

I hook my laptop up to my TV with a HDMI cable so a lot of the lesser quality streams are still more than watchable.

I didn't watch it last night so don't know what the streams were like but sometimes it can be hard to find good quality English language streams, especially if there are lots of other PL matches going on. After a while you get to know which streams to avoid (delvey's, for example, is always sh*t for me, while Bloodzeed's is usually pretty good even though it uses much more bandwidth).

I think that maybe you just got unlucky and picked bad streams(s), or it's possible your ISP is throttling P2P traffic(?) If you're happy with flash streams then fair enough, personally I find them generally too jerky/blurry to enjoy watching.

I'm going to give them another try but I tried about 6 different links (two for Bloodzeed's) and the couple that did work were buffering after every 5 seconds or so which made it un-watchable for me.

I'm pretty unfussy with the picture quality of streams, as long the players don't just look like blobs of colour and I can follow the ball I'm content.

I was impressed with the picture quality of the Acestreams and if I can find a (semi) stable link for future games I'll be happy.

The firstrowsports one I used last night was perfectly watchable, only stopped maybe 4 times during the match and had one or two 'fuzzy bits' where it all went a bit stuttery on some slow motion replays, which was a little annoying.

Doesn't really matter. You would have to choose a speedtest server that is in the same country and same network than most of the acestream (or sopcast) peers you are connecting to usually.

i used vipsports.is which was the nuts had cbs stream with no breaks ad pop ups, or fuzziness, and it had bergerac as co-commentator who kept saying that spurs just didn't have the same quality as chelsea. And a rather fit blonde doris hosting with robbie earl as the studio analyser. bang on

I had the same issue with acestream despite having a pretty good internet speed. Sopcast, for me anyway, is a lot more stable and almost never buffers. You should give it a try.
