March 28, 201610 yr Author You can't deny that there are differences between cultures in terms of how people express themselves. I don't know if it applies in this case. I do know that in my experience Dutch culture is more blunt and less diplomatic, and that may carry over to Belgium. I think Thibaut's words have been translated unfairly. But let's suppose hypothetically that they he intended to say them that way. He would merely be saying aloud what others might secretly think but not say. There are definitely differences between cultures in how much you say aloud what you think. In some cultures people supress it even though they might be thinking the same thing. Believe me, Offside. He hasn't say anything wrong. I believe The Guardian journalist is not really a Chelsea fan. Or he doesn't speak Flemish well. (And it has nothing to do with culture. But the English media is not a easy one, isn't it?)
March 28, 201610 yr Author I recall several years ago in the second season that Drogba joined us posting on here that in my eyes Drogba could never be a legend for CFC, he had bad mouthed the club one time too many. And many posters on that topic echoed the sentiment. (I cant find the topic for some reason) And look how that turned out. He now owns one of the most "iconic" moments in CFC history with that penalty against Bayern, along with everything else he achieved. And on top of that a mentor to the younger players. My point is people change and mature, many of these players are young and spoiled in many aspects and most probably do not have level headed people around them who will speak the truth to them rather than just agreeing with whatever they think or say. Add football journos twisting every word that is said to suit their agenda and there will be mistakes. Players who just keep their head down and do their talking on the pitch are a rarity and that's not surprising. In hazard's case, its not just the sh*t season, its the apparent lack of effort that is hard to stomach for me. I haven't noticed a lack of effort on Courtois part, just some mistakes, which with how s**t our defence was for a long period, is not surprising. I like this one!
March 28, 201610 yr Author Sadly Offside, in this day and age this really isn't the case. Most of these deals are already developing behind the scenes and will no doubt be ramped up further during the Euros. I suspect many of these soundbites in the press are carefully orchestrated comments manufactured by agents to affect the mindset of the club's hierarchy. After all all of these players are under contract and can be made to see these contracts out. But who would really want a disaffected attacker or, worst still, goalkeeper being forced to stay at a club when his heart isn't in it. It would not surprise me at all if half the stuff we read and see in the press is actually subtle political posturing by the agents and the club's representatives. That's a good entry, WhiteWall! That's possible. Indeed. Hard to believe for a die hard fan. Unfortunatily. Not pleasant that modern football.
March 28, 201610 yr Pfffffffffffffffffffffff. You ask me a lot at this moment Youlots. Remondez I believe, has alreay done a good try. About Chelsea. Indeed. It's not a good season. He doesn't know why. It's unbelievable after a good season like last year. He's still ambitious. He wants to work hard. He knows he can do a lot better. He wants to do it for Chelsea. He has still a contract. If there are some mental problems, it's good to have a Belgium game at this moment. The season is not over yet. He knows there's a lot of critisicm. The English media is not a easy media. It's important to stay above that. (Hope I translate it correct.) So.....more than 2 days after you were initially asked by ploks to translate what Courtois had said in the material interview (that had been posted by you) & after further request for you to do so some 2 days later, this is the sum total of what you translated?! Of a 4 minute interview?! With respect, that is hopeless. We're no further down the path of having a comprehensive transcript.
March 28, 201610 yr Author I don't ask anything. I just wonder why some forum members believe anything. And yep, I have posted the only right version, Youlots. You can see him talking. Indeed. Probaly, you don't understand him. If I have some more energy, I will do it for you. (You are the first who has asked it.) (A few hours ago.) Goodnight!
March 28, 201610 yr KRC is my favourite member on this forum, simply because he had the willpower to reply to everyone lol!
March 28, 201610 yr Author Thank you, JMaher94! Yeah. But only this thread. And the Kevin De Bruyne thread. And my thread of course. But for now, ... I really need a sleep. The German beer ......, you know?
March 28, 201610 yr Taken from Martin Samiels article today. Spot on I would say. Perhaps the best that can be said about Thibaut Courtois is he’s ungrateful. Chelsea shed Petr Cech, one of the finest goalkeepers in Europe, for him and he has repaid them with a series of barbs while away on international duty. Courtois has blamed former manager Jose Mourinho — the man who promoted him over Cech — for not working the team hard enough in pre-season, and he has followed this with negative remarks about the quality of his team-mates, before casting doubt on whether he would be at the club next season. ‘I won’t say yes, but I won’t say no,’ Courtois teased, seemingly oblivious to his three-year contract. Maybe he needs to concentrate on his performances before spreading criticism. Chelsea were little improved by his return from injury, and his understudy, Asmir Begovic, performed well. Courtois’ form of late has been ordinary. He is not the reason Chelsea have flopped this season, but his attitude to what may be a tough period of recovery ahead suggests the figures within the expensively-assembled dressing room at Stamford Bridge remain as stout-hearted and unselfish as ever.
March 28, 201610 yr Author Good morning. Who is Martin Samiels? Taken from an article, from an other article? Spot on would you say? About what? Do you have a source, JM7? His attitude? Do you have a video? Spreading criticism? When? Edited March 28, 201610 yr by Krc-fan

Sky;s quote. "I do not say yes, I do not say no. I do not know: I still have three years on my contract. We must see what Chelsea want," So clearly he isn't oblivious to that 3 year contract then. And again this is a quote taken from a translation so the true meaning and context behind what has been said is unknown. For all we know he was trying to say that he is happy with his 3 year contract at the club but in football nothing is for certain and Chelsea hold all the cards as his contract is with them. To make a judgment on a snapshot of a conversation, especially one that has been contorted and misrepresented to make an interesting story is ill advised. Edited March 28, 201610 yr by PedroMendez
March 28, 201610 yr Good morning. Who is Martin Samiels? Taken from an article, from an other article? Spot on would you say? About what? Do you have a source, JM7? His attitude? Do you have a video? Spreading criticism? When? Martin Samuels is chief sportswriter at the daily mail. He's an excellent writer and often questions things that no other journalists are saying. It's only his opinion.
March 28, 201610 yr Author Correct, PedroMendez! Thank you! Well! Then he's certainly not a Chelsea fan, JM7!
March 28, 201610 yr sh*t about your club, Dkw? Where can I find that? Let me guess. You are a The Guardian reader too? Benteke? Lukaku? You should have got Kevin De Bruyne this season! No, I'm not a guardian reader at all, why ask that? As for Hazard, how about when he said signing for PSG would be hard to resist days before w played them in a winner takes all CL game. That was moronic at best, but more likely him looking after himself, the gobsh*te.
March 28, 201610 yr Author Just an idea, DKW! Thought you were one too. Never, ever have seen a Hazard video, DKW. Not in English, not in French. Not in Flemish. Not in German, ... So, I don't know if it's true. I really can not discuss about this. Was it a Martin Samuels article perhaps?
March 28, 201610 yr Christ, you do understand your beloved belgians aren't super Dooper amazing all the time, right? He said it, it was reported in many, many ways by many, many media outlets.
March 28, 201610 yr Yes, in my opinion. The evidence is their with the Belgian players in our league, as I mentioned earlier. What's that, 3-5-10 players? Statistically that's irrelevant, you cannot draw conclusions from a sample size that small. I expected better of you, dkw. Shall we make observations on English football fans based on the comments in this thread? That won't show much improvement since the '80s :P
