You're confusing being a supporter of a club with being an employee of a club. You are a big supporter of Chelsea and can't imagine anything more wonderful than to work there. But you think of the concept of the club, as opposed to the people that also work for the club, the colleagues, the bosses, the working environment.

The alarm goes off when you don't want it to no matter where you work, the people can be c**ts wherever you work, you can be bullied by a boss wherever you work...

I get your point but I didn't say as a Chelsea fan, Even if I was the arsenal doctor I would say the same!!

You get a good job, A top, Top job then you get a slap on the wrists (After a couple good years at the top of your profession) for your own mistake and boom you quit and try to sue that company?!?!

Im of the opinion there is much more to the story tbh but I can only whinge about what we currently know.   :PDT_kap:

And you whinge like a pro, based on insufficient knowledge :-)

You did, when you posted the general statement about women.

I said that women want equality but many (media highlighted) incidents like this, Make the whole issue into a joke.

The media is sexist no doubt because that brings the clicks (I presume)

Should add, the only other thing that makes this about women is that it gives Eva of that option of pursuing sexism, and the much bigger payout that would provide, and not Jon. That alone might be why we see two different courses of action. As stated, constructive dismissal only puts you in a similar situation as if your contract had not been breached. You are essentially compensated as if the incident never happened but you have an obligation to try and find work asap. You do not get some massive settlement unless you can prove a few criteria such as showing your ability to earn in the future has been impaired, harassment and or discrimination. I believe there is no cap on the awards given for the latter two. Any mega lawyer taking this is in for the name recognition and or to get a slice of that no cap reward/settlement.

For all we know they might of both gone to a lawyer together. Jon told he'd not bother and Eva only if she claimed sexism. Don't kid yourself if you don't think that isn't a conversation being spoken any given time of day in some lawyer firm around the world. No one has ever heard of being too cynical in the legal realm this appears to be heading towards.

Actually, it IS sexist, and also quite silly.

Replace in any such general sweeping statement as yours the word "women" for another group, for instance "men".  I'm assuming you're a man; do you hold the same opinions as all other men? Or do some men have one opinion, some other men hold a different opinion? Or use the word "jew", or "black", or "refugee", or "Brit", or "Capricorn". Perhaps you realise then how utterly ridiculous and discriminatory your statement is.

If I had £1 for every time I heard 'all men are pigs' I would be bloody rich.

You are mixing with the wrong kind of women, my dear!

To be fair some of them were kind of hard to avoid. Like my mom ;)

You mother says that???  And you, her son, are a man????  What does that make her?  The mother of a pig??? Goodness gracious me!

Perhaps Undertow was still a boy when his mum said that, so he doesn't qualify as a pig. I'm sure he doesn't qualify as a man either anyway :-)

He would have been a piglet, surely..they;re quite sweet actually with their little curly tails!

Sadly past tense would be appropriate. But yes, she used to say that when I was a boy. Let's just say that she didn't choose her relationships with much wisdom.

Anyway, my point is that women do make sexist remarks about men quite often, it's just the reaction that differs, most men usually laugh it off and no one really cares. Then again, men and women ARE basically different so no surprise there. That's ok though I wouldn't have it any other way :)

I am so sorry, undertow.

And you're quite right - a lot of women do make sweeping generalisations about men .  And vice-versa.  Shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Read back: I am in no camp, as I have not enough information.

ahhh i seeee, The old 'I dont have an opinion but will shut everyone else's down' trick!!  ::MooNeY::

anyone getting sense of deja vu about how some organised groups maybe using the situation to get some publicity for themselves...with JT's case, there were all sorts of people coming out of the woodwork chipping in with their opinion, now the same with Eva...a lot of people are talking without knowing the full story, was Eva demoted for what happened v swansea or was it the last straw?...or that facebook post etc?...anyway can't help but think all the talk of Eva is helping other peoples' agenda as much as they make out they're helping her

It's fascinating reading this thread. This is clearly a very divisive subject.

Personally it's a Mourinho sh*tstorm too far for me. I've defended him (and the club) in previous situations when I probably shouldn't have but my love for the club has taken over and let my heart rule my head. But I was appalled when this happened and I'm still appalled at it now. Worse of all it's all only just starting - this is going to get bigger and messier and we are going to get some of the worst publicity we have ever had. I agree there will be people in the media and people not involved in the game throwing their oars in, and some of it will be unfair for sure but a lot of it is going to be deserved - it's going to be the ultimate PR nightmare.

I didn't become a supporter of CFC for this. Apart from this post I'm staying well away from it, as for me it's simply no fun and not what being a football supporter is about.

It's a a total sh*tstorm , shockingly handled, which could've been nipped in the bud a month ago but is going run and run and affect us off the pitch and I fear, on it too.

This isn't what I signed up for. Shame on everyone, but mostly Jose. I love the bloke and what he has done for the club but by God does he come at a cost. This is all total bollocks.

If that's how you want to shift attention away from your uninformed opiniion, by all means do.

The only defense I can mustard toward JM is if the general knowledge inside the team is the doctors are part of the squad so they are treated like squad members. If it is so Eva should get the same treatment as any player or physio. If you want to pursue equality you need to be able to handle the good and bad.

TBH my problem isn't with Carneiro as at the moment no one knows what she's up to, its more people like Heather Rabbat (who should stay right out of it if there is to be a court case or tribunal in the future) and rival fans and journalists immediately citing sexism.

Its pathetic that fans who gave out dogs abuse to her previously, are now so concerned about sexism.

The narrative is clear, Chelsea is a club full of racists and sexists, we will probably be called homophobic at some time despite us being on the end of rent boys chants for as long as I can remember.

I don't think Carneiro should have gone onto social media initially as I feel it was provocative and a bit immature, but we have all probably posted things on here that we wouldn't necessarily say to our bosses out loud.

The sexism thing is bogus imo just an excuse for haters to stick the boot in. A clash of personalities is probably more likely, but again like everyone else outside the club, I can only make assumptions about what really happened behind the scenes.

Thought the whole sexism thing was well highlighted yesterday when the chair of women in football was talking about the case...when asked about how Eva wasn't the only one abused that day, a reference to jon Fearn, the spokesperson said, "ah but it's different for Eva cos she's a woman and has had more scrutiny because of it.' But surely that's suggesting it's alright to bollock a bloke in the workplace but not a woman?

I agree with bjd above when he says it's been poorly handled and been a massive pr own goal by Jose and the club...but I maintain that there are also other agendas at work here and a question mark over whether this case is about what happened or just because Eva is a woman

Well at least I got the balls to get off the fence and have an opinion in the first place!
