Blimey, if that's true and it isn't mind games then we should absolutely be beating this lot. No excuses.

I'd imagine one of Blackett or McNair in defence, but the lack of Carrick is a massive one too. They could go back to 3 in defence too.

Don't bank on it. Plenty of times we have faced the big teams with their best players missing, thinking we will smash them, but it never ever happens. We go into those games playing a pathetic, defensive game. I hope this won't be the case, but I really wouldn't be surprised at all.

f**k Fellaini the pube headed c**t.

Last thing we should be doing is showing United any respect.

We are the league leaders, we don't need to change things for them.

We're the home side, we dictate the tempo of the game.

They can long ball it up to pube head all they like, JT can handle him and his razor elbows.

Matic, Fabregas, Willian and Hazard will boss that United midfield, especially with no Carrick.

Might as well just give us the 3 points now.

Who do you think will be the first player to be elbowed by the afro thug?

Dave.

He wont have the bottle to get the elbows out for Ivan, Cahill, JT or Matic so he'll go for the smallest guy in the defence.

The lanky coward.

No doubt.

Hopefully Tibo and Eden will keep the coward at bay.

It's funny that I never seen his nasty streak when he was with Everton. I remember once thinking he'd be a good option for us....must have been drunk.

From what LVG has said, we'll probably play this:

De Gea

Valencia Smalling Blackett Shaw

Rooney

Herrera Fellaini

Mata RVP/Falcao Young

Because of the injuries, Van Gaal might be even more inclined to leave out Di Maria, so as to balance the team.

Yes, it's quite likely we will play in a similar structure to what we usually do in a 4-3-3 in order to continue with our possession football ideology on the ball (which we've been successful with for the last month or so); meaning Rooney could be the core of our midfield, behind a midfield two of Herrera and Fellaini.

    Rooney©

Herrera   Fellaini

On the ball he'd have to utilize his vision, strength and passing ability but no doubt he's completely nullified and uncomfortable there and would be forced to stay in position. Shame really... Although, I do still see this as a position for Rooney in 3/4 years when his legs start to go.

The problem here lies off the ball, we just have to hope Rooney can put a shift in for us and can stay as disciplined as possible and not to get suckered into being dragged out of position which is quite likely with the likes of Hazard and Willian who will be sure to stretch the pitch as much as possible and drag Rooney with them, Rooney's workrate and determinism of a headless chicken could be utilized against him, Rooney in essence, could be his own enemy. He really needs to be disciplined as Carrick which is a huge ask from him and not to be so rash and to stay calm. I'm sure if Costa was there he'd really test his temperament but thankfully we don't have to deal with that.

In terms of wide playmakers and wingers, it's highly probable we will insist on the same strategy of Mata and Young, Juan to retain possession which would see Di Maria missing out again; Young for his workrate and speed on the left and to track the runs of Willian. The Valencia v Hazard battle sounds scary from a United perspective and this would really be a test of Juan's defensive game as well as he'll have to track more than ever but I still believe he's a better option than Di Maria at the current time, but I digress on the matter. So adding to the midfield side:

Rooney©

Herrera   Fellaini

Mata                        Young

Hrm, the loss of that many players is a blow for United but I wouldn't underestimate Louis Van Gaal. He's the one who mentored Mourinho after all.

Very interesting game tomorrow.

Still going for a 2-2.

I'm sure he learned from van Gaal as well, but I reckon Sir Bobby Robson must've been a bigger influence.

Same here and a couple of red cards ..............reckon it will be a feisty one with plenty going on off the ball ....apart from Mata obviously who will be a true gent as usual

Let's do the mug's, put 'em back in their box and pack 'em off back up the motorway with NIL points, NIL goals and a good stuffing. They have been getting away with being mediocre for a few years now so let's shoe 'em up fpr what they are - second best to us.

Agree with 99% percent of what you said - other than the fact that the majority of them won't be travelling very far up the motorway to get home!

I hope we will set up like:

-------------------------------Tibo----------------------------

Ivan---------------Cahil--------------- JT ----------Dave

------------------------ Zouma Matic--------------------

Rambo---------------- Fab/Willian--------------- Hazzard

------------------------------- Remi -----------------------------

Absolutely this....in Manchester when city were crap they were still the most supported team

We should go all out on them imo. Their man anchorman is missing plus Blinds injured as well. Rooney's gotta play CM or maybe Fellaini both of em aren't specialised in that position.

We should just go for the win NOTHING LESS, not even a draw would be good imo. They are in good form(as of results 6win in 6) but many of those wins as been as good as ours lately.

We shouldn't give these scums any respect at all, they don't deserve. Although I know Jose respects LvG, but this should come in our way.

We should go with

Courtois

Brana-Cahill-Terry-Azpi

Fabregas-Matic

Willian-Oscar-Hazard

Remy.

It won't be easy tho, but we are very well capable of beating them. Up the blues. #KTBFFH.

We still aren't in the best of forms are we and we are playing a team what is steamrolling. It's good that we've got ourselves in a very good position. I would be very happy with a point this game, not one we will want to lose.

Streamrolling is a part of winning so who cares. If you remove those Liverpool, City and Spurs game away, United have been streamrolling since agees. But since they've beaten these 3 teams, they're the most in-form team.

Well I didn't just put steamrolling as in winning games, we are in good form if you look at our fixtures but if you watched our performance you would think again.

United have appeared to have found the right formation and form since the Liverpool game, and they have looked impressive since then. Don't underestimate our rivals, but with that being said don't underestimate us, we have shown this season that we are no pushovers, you could say this would be Uniteds hardest game, unfortunately I've just always lacked that optimism but so I'm going to sit on the fence for this one.

I hope our lads will be fired up for this. Winning against them would give a huge boost to our teams morale. Not at all saying it will be easy as we've been struggling alot recently.. but hopefully we'll get those 3 points.....

I don't think this is a good position for Zuma in a clash against United.

That really isn't true, not even close mate. I live in manchester and United are comfortably the most supported team here. City can't even fill their stadium on a Champions league night. When they were in League One, city had about ten or eleven fans, which since winning the league has probably risen to at least double that.
