A gentleman's agreement that we'd sell him to Arsenal? I find that hard to believe. I find it even harder to believe that Mourinho would have agreed to it.

People like you seem delighted with a deal that has massively benefited Arsenal but not us. What kind of Chelsea fan are you? Me, I'd prefer the club to have looked after its own interests first and foremost, and it certainly is not in our interests to be doing Arsenal favours.

Of course Cech will return and haunt us in some way. That's what happens when you sell great players to rival teams. Why sit there in denial?

I'm the type of Chelsea supporter who respects our legends, goes to matches and supports my team and doesn't call the club mugs and gets disappointed when they act with class. What type of fan are you? Apart from the one who looks forward to old players coming back and haunting us to prove you right.

Funnily enough I remember another 'fan' on another forum saying he hoped Mata would destroy us when he returned with United. You just learn that some people get a bit overexcited in the heat of the moment and don't have that ability to view things in their entirety. This is all a result of us acquiring and developing the best young keeper in the world. That's a good thing.

I am not mad with Cech for going to Arsenal, it ticks all his boxes. I am dissapointed and upset because I felt his wishes would be accommodated as best as possible while being tempered by the clubs best interests and I feel that did not happen.

Loyalty is thing of past these days. How can one be called a legend when he forces his move away to join our fiercest rivals. I'm not going to disrespect him or anything but he doesn't seems to be a legend to me. Jose wanted him to stay and probably did all he could, but Roman was too grateful & Cech had other ideas. He could have easily joined PSG. Paris ain't a bad place to settle probably better than London plus he'd get much more cash than Arsenal and certainly wouldn't have destroyed his legacy like he did today. Well I'm being pretty harsh by saying destroying his legacy but still.... 

 

Lampard's situation was different, he joined NYCFC first and was loaned plus the club didn't wanted him. But in Cech's case Jose dearly wanted him to stay but he couldn't displace Courtois from #1 and now he's off. Poor man.

 

Legends are certainly not like that. Walking away from the challenge, plus they are loyal.

11mil is not a lot but better than nothing. He had only one more year on the contract so that was also a factor in that deal. I think Arsenal will make other upgrades to their team and they will be probably our biggest rival this season.

We could have blocked the move this summer (Cech did not buy out his remaining one year of the contract) but decided to be gallant and not to. It has nothing to do with Arsenal.

What a terrible decision to sell to those c**ts of all people, the one thing they have been lacking. This is now the first transfer Jose hasnt signed off onand he has clearly stated several times this is a bad decision and will only hurt Chelsea yet the board just don't seem to care what he thinks on this one. The agreement was apparently to allow him to go wherever he chose if he gave us last season. Any club was a possibility so long as we got a fair price. That's what I've heard from people I trust.

As for the type of fan I am, I'm the type who recognises that a players personal life will take precedence over what a tiny minority of fans might think. I won't say what type of fan I think you are.
