Atletico may have shot themselves in the foot by scoring so early, they certainly shouldn't immediately sit back (especially without Godin). They were wonderfully aggressive off the ball and it was disrupting Bayern so much going forward.

 

Great recovery from Oblak there as well.

City fans on TalkSport were saying the atmosphere at the Etihad stadium was good last night, no, the atmosphere in tonight's game is what i would call a good atmosphere.

I really hope Simeone stays at Atletico Madrid for a long time, i would hate for one of the English teams to get him.

Fine half so far, Atletico's midfield and full-backs have been outstanding.

 

Despite their technical numerical disadvantage in the middle (although Griezmann has done a particularly impressive job of helping to press) Bayern's midfield have been unable to get anything going. Alcantara in particular has struggled a lot, and Vidal has made a few absurd decisions at times, meaning that Lewandowski has really struggled for service. I wouldn't be surprised to see a tactical switch from Guardiola at half-time - presumably Thiago off for Müller considering the latter's ability to create space when none seems available.

 

Really looking forward to the second half, this has been a top-notch match.

Also Clattenburg has been excellent.

 

P.S. Something which always strikes me is that Godin and Juanfran have identical hairlines.

Outstanding save - that was even more impressive than Hart's yesterday.

Would have taken off Costa there; Coman has looked far more dangerous and Costa is on a yellow.

What's that now for Bayern? A 3-3-3-1 with Lahm moved into midfield and Ribéry and Costa as "wing-backs"?

 

Actually Lahm seems to move to the touchline when Bayern are out of possession then drifts infield when they've got the ball.
