Only one team tried to win that, City were rank. Imagine hardly threatening when Real are missing their best player and two top goal scorers.

It'll be very interesting to see what Leicester bring to the CL next season. If they play their way, and are not hamstrung by over-cautious European refs, they could shake things up.

I enjoyed that to be honest, admittedly there weren't a great deal of inspired attacking moves, although Real started the second half pretty well. There was plenty of smart defending; Fernando and Fernandinho look twice the players they were last season, and City look like a far better unit with Kompany and without Touré playing, especially against this kind of opposition. Injuries notwithstanding, Guardiola has plenty to work with in the City squad he'll be inheriting.

0-0 is, other than a win, technically the best result a home team can achieve in the first leg so I imagine City will be fairly happy. That said, I'm not sure it'll be enough to get to the final.

Thoroughly looking forward to tomorrow night's semi-final.

Thought you'd be more interested in that other team that will be in there next season

BT reviewing highlights of the match...yet to show a single clip of city threatening the Madrid goal...and yet hart, Kompany, Rio, commentators are confident they will go through next week..

Bizarrely city fans are coming on saying atmosphere was great etc...now I know tv mics can sometimes not pick up noise as well, or be placed in wrong parts, but in a game like that it really should make a difference...and I didn't have a problem hearing the Madrid fans

Navas is dreadful, does almost nothing every game.

He is the worst crosser of the ball i have ever seen, even worse than Lennon and Walcott when they were younger. He seem's incapable of lifting the ball off the ground when crossing. He just runs at the defence and hits the ball at the first defender.

It's baffling how some footballers manage to stay at the top of world football for so long when they are this average.

Yeah Cundy was so funny. Thing is, he does tell it like it is. If it's good or bad, he'll say both.

I find it amazing that a few words from Cundy can get so many fans angry. It's not like what he is saying is a bunch of lies. Instead of City fans being so angry with him, maybe they should be doing something to raise the atmosphere in their stadium. They are in a Champions League semi final for the first time, it's bad enough that they always have empty seats, but to be so quiet in such an important game is just embarrassing.

Hey guys....happy Demba Ba day!

Two years ago to the day....Demba saved football. :-D

The day demba saved us all from years of scouse f**kwittery, he should be knighted for services to football.

Whilst his time at Chelsea was relatively short, I'll never forget Demba Ba. I don't think I've ever shouted so loudly in my life, the day he got that goal against PSG, one of my favourite Chelsea moments.

And of course, Slippy G-gate...

Ah yes today is my Birthday, I always complained that nothing exciting ever happened on my Birthday, but now I get to celebrate the glorious Slippy-G moment, as well as the auspicious day of my Birth.

Made all the sweeter by Stevie playing to camera the previous week, and his famous "We don't let this f*ckin' slip, we go again"

Absolutely fantastic article about the recent struggles of Donetsk (and by extension, Shakhtar):

http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/apr/27/shakhtar-donetsk-darijo-srna-sevilla-europa-league-semi-final

Great read...bet srna regrets not moving to chelsea deep down when he had the chance..what a horrific situation to be in...mad that Donetsk are in danger of going out of business when the team has been consistently strong in Europe for a few years now
