People have short memories...Luis was poor in a chelsea shirt, looked half the player he does for Atletico...but then la Liga is an easier less physical league, so no surprise.

Don't seem to recall anyone questioning dave playing left back and Ivan right back as we coasted to the title last season

I wouldn't say he was poor. Just not consistent enough to warrant a place in the starting eleven ahead of Dave.

Given his limited appearances I don't think he was that poor tbh, physically and technically I think he's just as (if not more) capable than Baba (not too mention Filipe Luis' has experience). I'd like to think the club could have anticipated that playing a 32 yr old Ivanovic at RB this season was a risk thereby guaranteeing Filipe Luis more gametime. But I digress... it's in the past now. Still believe he's a top class LB.

No, I can't imagine a quarter final with three teams in the same match. :happy001:

Have to agree with what kinkladze said about how Leicester would feel not winning the league, I don't think they'd be able to live it down either. I want them to win the league and to still believe there's no pressure on them is nice but with each game they get closer the pressure has built and will continue to do so due to the amount of coverage it's getting, they're not flying under the radar anymore.

What he said about no one remembering this season in ten years time if they don't win is true IMO as well. And we should know that better than anyone, just look at how the 98/99 season ended for us. Drew our last three games against Boro, Leicester (f**k you steve guppy) and Wednesday, and finished 3rd, 4 points off top, the place we spent so much of the season, all those games we should have won.

That was an absolutely great Chelsea team and a great season and we gave the champions league a good go the next season surprising a few, getting through one of our groups instead of AC Milan and coming so close to knocking Barcelona out in the knockout round but we then couldn't keep up a title challenge the next season and went four years without champions league football. So how many people remember just how close we came to winning the league? Before Abramovich turned up even. Opposition fans and pundits definitely don't remember it.

Despite them ruining it for us in 99 I hope Leicester (more Ranieri tbh) do get the league as I think football in this country kind of needs it in a way to keep up the ambitions of all clubs  but I do feel despite how unexpected and how well they've done having come so close it would be awful for them to miss out now.
