Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2015/2016

I think there will be another twist in the next 8-9 games in terms of the title race. I believe one of the rival managers will have a word about Leicester in the press, it's either they don't have the experience to win it, or it's their too lose. It would be interesting to see how Raneri and his team response to that. It's one thing to be the underdog, it's completely another thing when the finishing line is so close, and you are the favourite to win it. It's still an unknown whether Raneri and his team could deal with that. I'm hoping they will do it, but..

that was when our manager thought it best to play a right back at left back and a centre half at right back - obvious really, I don't why other teams don't try it

Lol its an obvious thing to do

City are going to get slapped about if they draw one of the big guns.

Was an embarrassing crowd last night for a knockout CL game.

Do you know what the attendance was?  And what is their current capacity?  Do they ever sell out?  I find it astonishing that they struggle to get fans in.

Just read on Sky Sports website that the crowd was 43,630. I watched some of the game and noticed that one section of one of the upper tiers was empty. Although that could be due to the building works going on at the ground.

Very nice article / short interview with David Alaba (Hönigstein):

I didn't watch the City game. Was it empty seats dotted around everywhere again? I did see the billboards around Stockport this week advertising heavily discounted tickets for the game. Kids a fiver or something (not that that is a bad thing in itself). As they're adding another 5000 seats they must be banking on the Pep effect making a dramatic difference.

Having said all that, I'm still pondering where we think we'll get 60'000 from very often - especially if we do struggle to get back to the very top.

It was a dead rubber, I'm surprised there was even the 45,000, We were playing the Aston Villa of the CL, It's games like last night which have led to talks about a breakaway European Super League and as for getting slapped about by a big gun in the next round, Not too sure as we could always draw Wolfsburg or Benfica and fluke it like a few other teams have in the past.

Oooo feisty.

Just gonna say we had to get past Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Who told Man City fans about that?

I thought the Inter v Juve cup match I went to was a dead rubber as Juve were 3-0 up from the first leg.  Turned out to be a great match!

And surely lots of fans would've bought the tickets before the first leg wouldn't they?  I may be wrong, I can't remember now when tickets go on sale.

City won't be fluking anything, they don't have the characters, grit or determination that past winners of the CL have had.

The attendance (which has been a constant theme throughout the CL in the past few seasons with city) is pretty poor.

So is it Arsenal tonight? No pressure on them so they'll probably crash out. If the second leg was at home I'd actually have backed them to get a result.

Who said i was referring to Chelsea? To even think that is knocking your own achievement, How could beating Napoli in the last 16 with a 3-1 deficit, Facing Barca in the semi's and Bayern at the Allianz in the final be classified as a fluke? Come on fellas, I'm not a wum, I was referring to Porto and when Leverkusen got to the final, Even Liverpool were in a similar situation, They weren't the best team in Europe in 2005 but they won it, What do you expect me to say as a City fan? That we're shiite and going to get b-tch slapped as the other guy said? Come on.

You sound like Rodgers with the character nonsense, Given we've won 2 league titles in the last 3/4 years, I think we're okay in character, grit and determination lark, We just have an imbecile of a manager.

So the you think you have done alright and bring up the titles yet call the man who managed you to one of those titles an imbecile.

LOL

ok then....

Just kick him out - what's one more empty seat?

Or do what we did and replace him with a club legend from the 90s - Kinkladze, Rosler or Niall Quinn.

Actually just googled a list of the 50 greatest Man City players and number 46 was.....Richard Dunne. List was made in 2009 though so he's probably 48th now.

It's a Chelsea forum so you should really be expecting those kind of replies especially when the side was complete mince last night against one of the weaker sides and are now going to be missing their best defender for god knows how long.

What do you expect us to say? City will win it despite everything else telling us they will get their arses felt if Bayern, Barca and the likes get a hold of them.
