Can we keep Hazard?

Featured Replies

Only Neymar can be compared to Hazard in terms of ability for that age group, We are one of the biggest clubs in the world no chance and why would we would sell one of our top players? Eden seems to want to stay for a long time and with Jose saying he would one day be a future Captain I can see him staying at Chelsea for a long time yet, creating history and becoming one of our greatest ever players.

He could score his 50th goal for us tomorrow, lets enjoy him for this season and many, many more. He does seem happy in London and if his family seemingly grow up here, i doubt they'd want to leave, similarly to Cech, hope he stays for his whole career, don't even want the £100m or whatever Real/Barca offer.

A Belgian can adapt to life in London easier than Spain, he has kids in school he is stable, he is winning the league in the most competitive top flight in Europe, working under the number 1 manager and when we ask who are the top 4 clubs in Europe likely to win the CL, they are without exception Barca, RM, BM and Chelsea...where could he want to go? I think we will have him for the prime of his career and with Jose planning on sticking around and doing a Fergie Chelsea will only get stronger

Nope not in my opinion. Zidane future Real Madrid manager loves him, Hazard loves Zidane thats where he will be going in my opinion unfortunately. When Real Madrid or Barcelona want a player 9 times out of 10 they will get them and thats because playing for Madrid or Barcelona is like the pinnacle of football. I have always felt Hazard will end up at Madrid, sometimes i feel like he is too good for Chelsea and that he is a level above every player we have.

Love him to stay of course but the lure of Real Madrid is to strong. I really don't care how much we get for him because it would be a huge fee of course but you can't replace Hazard as Liverpool and Spurs have found out. Id rather have a player in exchange like Isco or Bale than lets say £80M.

maybe in a few years but we will have the bulk of his prime and by then we will find another big player with the money our team won the CL before hazard unlike the spuds and dippers we didnt luck out with a big player we got him because we have big player lure we got him and we will get many more I'd rather lose him than mourinho any day if we have jose we win trophies period

Real and Barca are the only clubs that could afford him, and Barca are stocked in that position for years to come with their front 3, so really it is only Real we'd have to worry about once they decide they want to upgrade CR7 for a younger player.

Although he does seem more down to earth than many other players that talented, and we have more retaining power than Liverpool or Spuds had with Suarez and Bale.

I'm kind of on the fence with this one, I think we definitely have 2-3 more years with Hazard, after that it might depend on his relationship with Jose (assuming he's still here) and how long CR7 can maintain his ridiculous form.

What a ridiculous thing the FFP is. In their terms, RM, Barca and MUFC could afford him, and not fall foul of the regulations. Yet, in MUFC's case (and probably the others too), they're millions in debt. How does that work?

Turnover if Im not mistaken. They bring in so much they can spend spend 100m a year

That's how I understand it, taking into account my limited understanding of business financials.

The whole thing is kind of a joke. 15 teams in the PL have no chance unless they manage to keep an entire crop of young players. I thought Southampton had a real shot if they could have held out for one more season.

I fear what will force Hazard's hand is if he doesn't start getting protection from EPL referees.

He is the most fouled player in the league by a stupid margin as it's the only way defenders can stop him.

The brutal truth is that Hazard has his longevity and future career to think of and if the likes of Stoke, Sunderland, and Newcastle players are content to kick seven shades of sh*t out of him the EPL might see the back of him sooner than they think. It will take a world-record bid to get us to the table but I can see him ending up at Real Madrid when either Ronaldo or Bale move on, probably the latter.

I'll take bale and 50 mil why not...and he was the most fouled player in the French league too I believe, it's how he plays, he forces the foul and thee are plenty of dirty players in the Spanish top flight too, I doubt that would be a factor, like someone said before the pinnacle of a players career is to play at Barca or Real, that's all that will factor in (or a big fall out) or maybe if he feels he can't win the ballon d'or with us since you can't score 50 goals in the EPLand get your arse kissed 24/7 and the fact Jose demands he tracks back, which makes him a better player but not as flashy....However I still don't see that happening in the near future..he is still a few notches below Ronaldo and Messi and he has a lot to learn from Mourinho still

In my opinion, he would suit Barcelona perfectly. However, they won't be replacing that front three any time soon. I would like to see hazard lift the CL before ever leaving though.

Crazy as it sounds, there's talk that over the next couple of years Barca may well be looking to cash in on Messi while they can still command a world record fee, and rebuild with Neymar as their new centrepiece.

On Eden though, I always kind of assumed he'd stay a few years and then get lured to Spain. After listening to what he's said recently though, and taking into account how down to earth people keep saying he is, I've actually started having a bit of hope he might stay. I think it'll probably depend on us staying competitive in the CL (and of course the PL) though.

the la liga tv deal is getting redistributed next season following a similar scale to the premier league so you thats going to take a huge chunk out of real and barcelona in terms of revenue

they have to share the revenue, at the moment they're both getting like 200m+ while the next best is atletico at something like 30m lol. but its going to change next season

About time

i was reading a couple bayern forums their fans seem to be big fans of hazard and they actually dont doubt that they could afford the transfer fee if we're talking 60-80m but because its chelsea they reckon that because we dont need to sell for money(which is true) the fee gets bumped up to 100m or more and that would make it impossible.

not to mention there's no chance of any sort of transfer like that going down while jose is here and pep is over there according to them

60-80m? Do they know who Eden Hazard is in Munich? If he goes for anything less than 80 I'd be shocked, not just because we dont need the money. Spurs got 80 for Bale's left foot ffs

If he goes to RM he wouldn't play on the left for obvious reasons, which is a big waste. He would have to send James to the bench which is not difficult for him and play as 10.

I don't see him going to Barca.

Anyway, anyone who wants him will have to pay at least 100M.
