JM has never had a successful 3rd season with any club his managed. The signs are already there. Today's result will be a regular theme this season.

The Charity shield in my opinion was clear intention of Arsenal team and motives now. Hazard was embarrassing and was the same today. Like many sorry I tip Arsenal for the league this season.

Played a full strength team against Arsenal and got beat played a full strength team against Swansea at home and was lucky to get point.

So we're all hopeful of beating City are we other wise it's catch up. Last season was 1st the whole time.

I don't trust JM under pressure he can't handle it. It's why Pep and Barcelona made him look like a pub team manager for 4 years.

Everton at home didn't run away with anything today either. Only time will tell. It's been said the smaller teams will take points from the bigger teams and that has happened today, all the bigger teams not just us.

Oh such jocularity. That's the funniest thing I've seen in a while. Jose can't handle pressure! Pub team manager! Have a rest now under your bridge, you've done too much trip, trip, tripping.

This was just a follow on from a woeful pre-season so nothing surprised me today.  Said it all last season and I'll keep repeating myself....Ivan is not a good RB, he is a good central defender and that is where he should be playing IMO; but I'll bow down to Jose's superior knowledge of the game and this team to keep playing him there and to keep getting exposed on the right side..perhaps Jose needs to sit high in the stands and see what Ivan is all about..or not, as the case may be.  Ivan aside..our defence as a whole is no where near where it ended last season, so there is still a lot of work to be done defensively. If Roman had any sense best he get his cheque book out and sign Stones this week and even look at another defensive midfielder, if Matic gets injured we are screwed, Mikel although a good servant is not a good stand in.  

 

At times we were playing decent football going forward, but terrible going the other way and defending.  Fabregas was continually getting caught in possession, Costa was feeling his way through the entire game, Hazard for what ever reason tends to pass more than he does running at defenders, even with open space in front of him...anyway could sit here all night and be critical but its not a loss and on a positive we got our first point...albeit a dodgy one.   I said in another thread we would be off to a slow start for the first 4 or 5 games, but hopefully some other contenders will be in the same boat.  No panic, God its only the first game, but I hope to see improvement all round the end of August.

Pep had to retire and flee spain with his tail between his legs when Mourinho won La Liga. Think you registered on the wrong forum matey.

After winning 2 European Cups a handful of Domestic Leagues, Club World Cup and he fleed cause JM won a single La Liga in his time there.

A draw against a very good Swansea is not a bad result at this stage of the season.

Just finished watching the game on pvr (was at work when it was live).

Fair result overall. Swansea worked hard for that, and until the winger who torn brana apart time after time went off, they were the better team.

Oscar was our best player. Very disappointed with cesc today. Hazard was poor, as was Costa. Impressed with oscar and matic.

Tibo was daft with that challenge, now he misses city. Not a red for me as cahill was covering. But was a pen, ultimately it cost us 2 points.

Not a good enough result or performance. Got to do better against city or we will leave there with nothing.

Personally think the game was there for Swansea, once they lost that winger they were toothless though.
