July 18, 201610 yr versatile, skillful, squad body who will be given a chance to prove himself in the premier league by a manager who intends to get the best out of him. Why not? Wasnt skillful in his first spell. Far from it. Thats probably why not. Honestly, I think some fans would find the positives if we signed Joey Barton.
July 18, 201610 yr Shouldn't be room for either IMO, Moses is at best a mid table player and Cuadadro doesn't look up for the PL.

July 18, 201610 yr Wasnt skillful in his first spell. Far from it. Thats probably why not. Honestly, I think some fans would find the positives if we signed Joey Barton. He is skillful though. It is perhaps that the epl's need for strength has mitigated his skill, but he's definitely technically capable. He needs room in order to operate, that's something not many people get in the epl and that's the problem. If Conte wants to use Cuadrado in a different role that will give him space, then it's a better fit. I think Mourinho tried to make Cuadrado play a certain way that doesn't fit his footballer profile. And the results were not too great and it has given a lot of people hesitance that he can do a job in the epl. That's what Conte has to figure out, and why I think it's not so bad of a decision to bring him back. But time will tell...wouldn't be shocked if he is loaned out after Conte finds out he simply cannot adapt to this league. Edited July 18, 201610 yr by TheChelsRVA
July 18, 201610 yr I'd love it if Cuadadro came back and tore up the league. I just can't see it though.

July 18, 201610 yr I think it was a lack of confidence that stopped him showing his best. He never managed to shake those early nerves that most players get. If he comes back and treats as a fresh start, and Conte and the season at juventus, can give him the confidence to believe he is good enough to play at this level.
July 18, 201610 yr I think it was a lack of confidence that stopped him showing his best. I think we saw his best, he just doesn't have the quality or ability. Thinking he's going to return a different/better player is setting ourselves up to fail.
July 18, 201610 yr Shouldn't be room for either IMO, Moses is at best a mid table player and Cuadadro doesn't look up for the PL. As much as it hurts me to say it we were a mid table team last season, I agree about Cuadrado though

We clearly didn't see him perform as well as he did at juventus though, so I don't think it's unrealistic to hope he gets close to that level for us. Conte is going to give him a shot and it can't be any worse than what he has shown in a blue shirt so far. Who knows FC, maybe you'll be ordering a 'Cuadrado 23' shirt this time next season! ...Yeah I doubt that as well lol.

July 18, 201610 yr Who knows FC, maybe you'll be ordering a 'Cuadrado 23' shirt this time next season! ...Yeah I doubt that as well lol. Especially as Michy Batshuayi now wears 23! And Pedro's taken 11. Maybe a third kit number is what he needed to kick start his Chelsea career? I wonder if any other player in our history has worn so many different numbers after so few appearances?

July 19, 20169 yr I'm not convinced he's even that pacey never looked quick in a blue shirt Hard to look quick when he spends most of his time tripping over the ball/his feet/the grass...
July 19, 20169 yr He scored 4 and assisted 5 for Juve this past season. Nothing special, not a flop either. Interesting to see what Conte can do with him...

Would be great if he did come good but I really can't see it. Just get the feeling we will get a few months into the season and it will have been another waste of time. I would rather hear that Conte is looking to give a player like Kenedy more game time - he DOES look to have what it takes.

I would rather hear that Conte is looking to give a player like Kenedy more game time - he DOES look to have what it takes. I think everyone would rather see Kenedy be given more of a chance instead, it's looking pretty tough for Kenedy this season, he could have hazard, Willian, Pedro, Cuadrado, and potentially oscar, batshuayi and traore, all to compete with for minutes in his favoured position.
July 19, 20169 yr doesn't matter if he played like Messi for Juve in Italy...fact is he played like a Sunday league player at Chelsea and that's being harsh on them. The league clearly doesn't suit him and he was bullied and made to look a fool when he did eventually get the ball. It wasn't nice to see and his confidence was shot. That wasn't down to Jose despite how many people like to try and make it out like it was. Sometimes players cant handle certain leagues and cultures...Cuadrado is the poster boy for those players.

Yes possible. But again de bruyne was not good either under jose. But he is now the most expensive player in man city history.May be some players didn't do well for certain style of play or not react well for certain training methods.

Difference is De Bruyne played well when given time, scored and didn't fall over the ball. Cuadrado literally looked like a joke figure in a Chelsea shirt.
July 19, 20169 yr I think people on here are being unduly harsh on Cuadrado. The guy was brought in to an incredibly high pressure situation with a team that had evidently slowed down and only given 10 minute cameos to make his mark. He couldn't find any rhythm with those cameos and the pressure clearly got to him as he looked like he was trying too hard all the time. He clearly possesses quality and I hope he shows it this coming season.
