July 19, 20169 yr Difference is De Bruyne played well when given time, scored and didn't fall over the ball. Cuadrado literally looked like a joke figure in a Chelsea shirt. De bruyne played moderately better than cuads.Definitely not the one we saw in wolfsburg. Edited July 19, 20169 yr by Keda

July 19, 20169 yr Yes i did so as de bruyne in chelsea too.De bruyne least got game time to impress but cuads not even got that. All i wanted to say is he deserved the chance to make it here. Will be great if he fulfil his potential here. Edited July 19, 20169 yr by Keda
July 19, 20169 yr I think we need to stop using De Bruyne as a comparison for anyone out on loan or sold off in the past. He clearly possessed the ability but wasn't a 'Mourinho' player due to work rates etc. therefore Mourinho basically forced him out the club. Cuadrado on the other hand offered absolutely nothing at Chelsea. I'd love him to come back and prove everyone wrong but i really can't see it happening.
July 19, 20169 yr Yes i did so as de bruyne in chelsea too.De bruyne least got game time to impress but cuads not even got that. Erm nope, not even close. De Bruyne played 3 games for us before leaving....he had significantly less minutes in a Chelsea shirt than Cuadrado.
July 19, 20169 yr He was signed at a terrible period of time for us with a manager on his way out and a manager who obviously didn't believe in him. He looked like a dear in headlights, he's a good player and he has proved that in Italian football. Don't care what anyone says about Italian football but their top clubs like Napoli and Juventus are better or on par with us at the moment. I don't buy the argument that he's not cut out for the premier league. The premier league is arguably at it's weakest in terms of quality in European football, it was great that Leicester won the league last season but it shows our poor the league is. Under Conte, a manager who wants him and a manager who believes in him I believe he will thrive and could be like a new signing. Edited July 19, 20169 yr by Sheva
July 19, 20169 yr (In response to Keda) ^ De Bruyne got hardly any time at Chelsea - his career with us consisted of 158 minutes of game time. Cuadrado wasn't exactly run into the ground or anything, but he got more than double that. Sheva- I largely agree with your post, but we signed Cuadrado when we were on our way to winning the league. José looked pretty entrenched in his position at the time. Edited July 19, 20169 yr by PloKoon13
July 19, 20169 yr Also Cuadrado did actually start a few games for us, people keep making it out like he was only ever used as a late substitute. In the games he started he was subsequently subbed because he played like a donkey.

I agree Juventus would be on par but the rest of that league is poverty. There is a reason Juventus win it with such ease every year and there is a reason Cuadrado is good in that league and its all down to a lack of competition.

If you dont like cuadrado let it be.Our new manager likes him and rates him.Lets see what he will do with the manager who believes in his ability and utilise him in best way possible.
July 19, 20169 yr If you dont like cuadrado let it be.Our new manager likes him and rates him.Lets see what he will do with the manager who believes in his ability and utilise him in best way possible. It's nothing to do with me liking him or not, I'm basing it on what he gave in a Chelsea shirt. You seem to think he hardly got a chance or any minutes which is clearly not the case as was pointed out above. I backed Cuadrado to the hilt when he was here but there was simply no defending the level of performance he put in when called upon...we as a club had no choice but to get shot.

Ok I agreed he did have few games for us and he didn't perform well too.Want to see him in pre season under conte's guidance and hopefully it will beclicked for him.

Id argue Napoli and maybe Roma would be up there. Juventus are a step above, Juventus have been step above us going on previous couple of seasons. If it wasn't for an incredible Barca forward line then they would of become european champions. The Premier League is vastly overrated, it has a lot of money which attracts the big names. The idea of a player playing for a club like Juventus that can't cut it at a premier league club baffles me.

The teams Juve are playing against every other week are low level, you only have to watch the games on BT to actually see how bad it is. English football is a money pit and for technical ability it's not the best out there but for total package it really does dwarf everything else.
July 19, 20169 yr My worry with Cuadrado is that we already have a similar worker type player in Willian, but Willian is better. I can't see where Cuadrado will fit.
July 19, 20169 yr I think people on here are being unduly harsh on Cuadrado. The guy was brought in to an incredibly high pressure situation with a team that had evidently slowed down and only given 10 minute cameos to make his mark. He couldn't find any rhythm with those cameos and the pressure clearly got to him as he looked like he was trying too hard all the time. He clearly possesses quality and I hope he shows it this coming season. My thoughts exactly, it won't hurt to give him a proper chance.

July 20, 20169 yr My thoughts exactly, it won't hurt to give him a proper chance.I should be given a chance as well. I am nearly 55 , have a right knee that's melted and need a bigger belt for me trousers than I did when was I 50.But I still know in a 50-50 tackle between me and Juan I would be the winner. Every time. Edited July 20, 20169 yr by just

To further sweeten the deal, take Papy, Mikel, Baba for free and I'll drive em to Turin this weekend. On the off-chance this deal falls through, I wouldn't mind seeing Juan given a second chance here. He's got all the attributes to be a great winger... Thought he seemed very timid under Jose, so he'll likely need a fresh pair of jockeys after meeting Conte for the first time before a flickt back to Turin.
July 21, 20169 yr I think Conte will assess him in the states tour and if he still wants to leave he is allowed to go. 25m€ sounds pretty good to me.
July 25, 20169 yr Latest I read was that AC Milan were looking to take him on a years loan wit a forced purchased at the end of it.
July 25, 20169 yr Apparently the boss rates him highly Yeah I think that's been confirmed with his comments before and after he came to Chelsea. However it looks like or is certainly being made out to look like Cuadrado would rather stay in Italy than come back to England.
