Question for the moaners

Featured Replies

TBF we needed an bench warming defender, a right winger and a physical central midfielder.

We got 2 of the 3 and hopefully RLC can be the third.

Everything is exacerbated by the start we've had and the fact Manchester City's start coincides with them spending £160m. We need to remember though that while they have momentum now the season is a long hard slog.

I defiantly think we should have put the rest of the teams to the sword and capitalised on the gap we made last season, having said that we have the players and manager to win the league and progress to the latter stages of the CL, only thing stopping that is our players mentalities and jose's stubbornness , it will work it's self out, maybe too late but it will.

Simple as that, Man City, at the top of the league, winning all the games, still manage to go KDB and Otamendi, for 80m

We as 4 games 4 pts, we try to buy djkfghdfuta for 2.7m

so the ambition of both clubs can clearly identify who are the real 'title contender'

Well lets just hope he pans out like the last defender we bought for fairly cheap and whose name was deemed unpronounceable.

If you guys can break down the City enthusiasm, Oneclubinlondon, it will work it's self out. Certainly. The season is still long. But that team has a lot of enthusiasm at this moment.

How can you sat we needed a bench warming defender? Surely the profile of defender we were after, is a quality young player that can compete for a starting spot. We failed to bring that profile of player, sp we went with a cheap stop gap squad filler.

So for me, we only actually addressed 1 out of the 3 areas we set out to.

Let me ask you this, who of the so called big teams has had a worse start than us?

Bobby,

At no point have I defended our start, pre season started to late. A number of big players arnt performing at the same time. My solution is not to replace these players. Last season I said we needed more goals, wich for me ment a right winger and another striker. Both have been addressed. Did I want stones, yes, because I have an eye on the future was he on my wish list, no.. Pedro ticks the box.

As for the Ivan thing, see my posts for the last year, I have long wanted dave at right back and Ivan to compete for a center back position but that doesn't mean that I'm going to tell Ivan to f**k of. The day he scored two header against the dippers he pretty much sealed him self in my permanent affection. He's out of form, not being lazy, did you see him on Saturday, he was gassed to f**k, not lazy.

So this is the same team that won the league at a canter last season. They just don't seem to want it enough now Jose has to work for me, and he has earnt the right to make a few mistakes because 8 out of 10 times he gets it right.

If if offered me now a top 3 finish and good CL run, maybe a domestic cup and RLC, Kennedy and or Traore to have established them selves with in the squad having given some decent pitch time I'd take it now and over the transfer of pogba

a reality check is needed..20 yrs ago a league title was about as likely as elvis turning up at the local tescos... fast forward on to today 4 titles numerous cups..and the club standing in the worlds elite ...expectation of winning trophys is now the norm ..I  am from the era that  gave us the likes of ossie Charlie bonetti etc  in the good yrs .and the lesser players who came in the after ..to the mcreadie side who gave us our pride back...enjoy watching world class players week in week out at  the bridge ..it wont last forever nothing does..

who? My memory just not working at the moment

We all know that patients isn't one of Romans virtues so I would imagine that Jose has until October to sort out this mess, certainly well before the January window opens. By then we may well have Klopp in charge

I just wont expect Klopp to risk destroying his reputation by applying the second hardest job in the world...

everyone knows Roman has patient, but only a little, I would expect if the first CL game not going well, Jose may got booted just like 07

he will pull the trigger whenever he feels he want to do it

Cahill and Terry were rocks last season, while Zouma gets better every day. We don't need major surgery in that area yet, just an extra body for an injury crisis.

Of course a top young talent to come in for the long-term would have been the ideal body but those are few and far between and Djilobodji will fill the requirements fine also.

agree with big blue on the 1/3. I think the point of stones was to offer a different skillset to what we're normally expected of with our current CBs to allow more tactical flexibility.

CM is an obvious issue

however pedro is a great signing

All though it's not been a "great window" I would consider is the reason it's not a great window because other than a few players we signed the rest very few supporters would know about as they not household names I include myself in this but I will give the new guys a chance I definitely would love to see the youth be used more but for whatever reason we don't use them and by time we do they have lost the window of opportunity for development

But we have to look at Bournemouth hardly spent much and now in premier league blackpool when they was promoted Borehamwood last season had less money than most teams and got promoted so it's not all about spending big fees you can do it on less money hard work etc what I hope we don't do though is panic buy in January I'd rather spend till next may getting pre contract deals doing transfers ready to confirm in the summer so got a ready made squad I also look at it and say is the less spending due to roman needing 500+ for the ground as it's going to run into way more than that and he knows that so trying to have a few season's where he accumulates moneys etc to help with offsetting the stadium cost so it takes quicker for him to get back to a more stable financial situation

KDB did f*** all against Everton last season! seems to me that the bundeslegia is 'softer'! as for KDB scoring 2 goals in the win against 'a couldn't be fuss already elected champion bayern munich' big deal!

Barak you are asking the wrong questions. There are 16 other teams outside the top four who have also improved making them harder to take points off. Have we kept step?

Will our rivals most likely match, exceed or drop below their performances from last season?

Have our rivals signed players more likely to help them beat the other 16 teams?

Am I right in thinking we now have something like 33 players out on loan, the latest apparently being Hector ?  I just don't get the logic of signing a player then sending him straight back on loan to the club we just bought him from. Hectors past loan record hardly inspires confidence but maybe I am misreading it ?

All in all I find our transfer dealings this window quite baffling, same with our start to the season so far. An interesting season ahead then.

So did I and so did many others around here....they were great times for that era, a different generation, a different game with little or no money and as fans I always though winning the FA Cup was the pinnacle....nice to win the old Div 1, but the FA Cup was the trophy to win IMO.  Unfortunately those days have long gone and we can only look back with fond memories of seeing 11/12 British players on the pitch ....today is a different generation of footballers; today football is a business, greedy agents, greedy players and Billionaires.  So now the expectation is that with the money with have and the players we have at our disposal, expectations are far higher than a somewhat now meaningless trophy called the FA Cup and Capital One Cup.

We have an owner who has a vision and boat loads of money, his expectations are ours, to be the best in Europe and to remain in the upper echelon of the footballing world and working towards becoming a giant conglomerate generating millions of $. 'If its not Blue..its soon will be'.  I am probably as old as you.....just sit back and enjoy the ride....while it lasts ......or we die beforehand

We had a good transfer window, my only criticism is we were reactive rather than proactive like last season. The signings or the lack of them aren't the main issues at moment. We are let down by players under performing, and manager not making the right yet tough decisions on game day. We should be on 9 points ( if not 10) right now if we played anywhere near our true abilities. A Bale or Pogba would help, but we can't rely on that to beat Palace at home.

To all moaners, KDB will suck in PL and Arsenal signed only one player, Petr Cech!

We can f**king win this league again!!!!

he wont suck bro, he would be perfect match with sliva and aguero

what a pity we dont have time for him to grow like now
