September 2, 201510 yr I feel he's more Bundesliga player than PL. I've see him play for Wolfsburg, he seem too soft for PL.
September 2, 201510 yr I feel he's more Bundesliga player than PL. I've see him play for Wolfsburg, he seem too soft for PL. Second. I dont think he'll suck but he wont get near player or team of the year. They paid 50m for someone akin to what Juan Mata is now
September 2, 201510 yr Which games have you seen, Michael440? Almost every game he was a game changer, last year. That's why he's player of the year in Germany. Have you seen his games in Europe? Everton, Bluedrake55? If De Bruyne had played your final against Bayern Münich, you guys had won that Super Cup. Have you seen his games against Bayern, Michael440? The last one? But you are right. It will not be easy in the best championship of the world. It will be certainly a great challenge. Edited September 2, 201510 yr by Krc-fan
September 2, 201510 yr If I reply to this thread, does that officially make me a moaner? Oh stop moaning will ya.
September 2, 201510 yr a reality check is needed..20 yrs ago a league title was about as likely as elvis turning up at the local tescos... fast forward on to today 4 titles numerous cups..and the club standing in the worlds elite ...expectation of winning trophys is now the norm ..I am from the era that gave us the likes of ossie Charlie bonetti etc in the good yrs .and the lesser players who came in the after ..to the mcreadie side who gave us our pride back...enjoy watching world class players week in week out at the bridge ..it wont last forever nothing does.. idiotic mindset
September 2, 201510 yr Their front five now reads Yaya, Silva, Sterling, KDB and Aguero, while they have Navas, Nasri and Bony on the bench. The rest of their team is tasty too. They've had a fantastic window, I don't see how they could have done any better. Agree that they've had the better window, but there is still a dearth of depth at centre-mid, one of the most important areas of the pitch obviously. If Toure goes down they'll have... Delph to partner Fernandinho (who himself isn't exactly a top midfielder). Ours isn't any better but it seems our lack of depth is highlighted much more often.
September 2, 201510 yr Bobby, At no point have I defended our start, pre season started to late. A number of big players arnt performing at the same time. My solution is not to replace these players. Last season I said we needed more goals, wich for me ment a right winger and another striker. Both have been addressed. Did I want stones, yes, because I have an eye on the future was he on my wish list, no.. Pedro ticks the box. As for the Ivan thing, see my posts for the last year, I have long wanted dave at right back and Ivan to compete for a center back position but that doesn't mean that I'm going to tell Ivan to f**k of. The day he scored two header against the dippers he pretty much sealed him self in my permanent affection. He's out of form, not being lazy, did you see him on Saturday, he was gassed to f**k, not lazy. So this is the same team that won the league at a canter last season. They just don't seem to want it enough now Jose has to work for me, and he has earnt the right to make a few mistakes because 8 out of 10 times he gets it right. If if offered me now a top 3 finish and good CL run, maybe a domestic cup and RLC, Kennedy and or Traore to have established them selves with in the squad having given some decent pitch time I'd take it now and over the transfer of pogba You know what I'm gonna swallow some humble pie here cause I agree with all that. I just think even last year we had some areas that needed addressing (in order to compete on four fronts) but if we can get youth in those areas then I'd take a season like you suggested.
September 2, 201510 yr hazard needs a couple games rest and we play pedro in his place and kenedy at right wing. the vast amount of games he played last season is obviously catching up to him now. eden isn't a player like azpilicueta who can go all day because his stamina is immense, eden has had to adapt since jose took over and it's obvious he isn't one of the fittest in the team, so allowing him adequate rest time is important in him maintaining his form. i agree that it's most likely ivanovic has lost steam, seemingly in the same way eden has and it's catching up to him also, or maybe it's his age and he isn't a player whom can play that right back role as consistently any longer. give them both rest and see what happens after. September 2, 201510 yr idiotic mindset ????? yep cos every Liverpool fan you spoke to in the 1980's could see a time in the near future they would have to wait 25 years to win the league .... jog on newbie
September 2, 201510 yr Author You know what I'm gonna swallow some humble pie here cause I agree with all that. I just think even last year we had some areas that needed addressing (in order to compete on four fronts) but if we can get youth in those areas then I'd take a season like you suggested. Agreed, with the last season comment, we won the title because we were the best team in the league, by some way, but we wern't and aren't a great team. There isn't a great team in the league right now. Compare it to the class of 2005 or the Arsenal Invincibles, or United in 2008, by the way I think the Arsenal team is the weakest of all 3 but just look at the back lines, 25 years old JT, gallas, Ricky, Bridge and Paulo for united Rio, Vidic, evra and nevill.... Cech was the best keeper in the league and he still is IMO but not as good as he was then. Drogba, Roben, Lampard, Cole, Essien, Scholes, Ronaldo, a good Rooney, Tevez... The talent pool is much more spread out now with City joining in, PSG have money and use it, The rise of the German machine in Bayarn. The talent is more spread out, more saturated. I don't even know if its possible for an English team to build a team like that again when the Evertons and WBA's of this world feel no pressure (rightly or wrongly) to sell due to the money.

September 2, 201510 yr How many players that were "Chelsea standard" we're actually available to buy during this window? Who did we lose out to that went to other teams? If a team refuses to sell a player you want (i. e. Stones), what can you do?
September 2, 201510 yr Should have been in for Schneiderlin, IMHO, lost out there big time. He's on a job share with Carrick at the moment, neither of them seem fit enough to play 90 minutes. Last thing we need is a old carthorse in the middle whose best days are behind them.

September 2, 201510 yr That's Schweinsteiger Yes... Yes it is. I'm getting my Sch midfielders all muddled up.
September 2, 201510 yr Yes... Yes it is. I'm getting my Sch midfielders all muddled up. As long as you remember that Bernd Schneider has retired now.

September 2, 201510 yr Well Son should probably be exempt for the time being, and Modric is the obvious exception. Bear in mind that they'd sold Defoe for £6m the previous year. I wouldn't have any incarnation of Darren Bent anywhere near the Chelsea team, and they spent about £150m on the other eight players' worth of dross.

September 2, 201510 yr But that's when they got Defoe from Charlton not when they re-signed him from Portsmouth, Defoe never moved directly from Charlton to Tottenham; West Ham gave him a professional contract after he was in Charlton's youth team. Charlton were only ever awarded a couple of million in compensation.
