January 6, 201610 yr You must be joking, Hazard is a fugly little troll!!! Still better looking than Bale
January 7, 201610 yr Unless he absolutely makes it clear he wants out then, no. I like Bale, but he's tainted with Tottenham stench and he might, like others have said, have peaked. With Bale's style that is more physical and related to athleticism, he might wane quicker than Hazard.

With Bale's style that is more physical and related to athleticism, he might wane quicker than Hazard. Would you rather have the next 4 years of Bale or the next 2 of Hazard? It seems like he always wanted to end up at Madrid at some point. At this point its worth selling if we can get a good return

January 7, 201610 yr Daily Mail reporting by that Hazard has made is mind up and is leaving in the summer with PSG, real Madrid and Bayern all interested...believe that one or not... To be a top player in those teams you need that arrogance and confidence which Hazard doesn't have. Once Ronaldo goes Madrid will play Bale on the left Isco at #10 and James on the right. At Bayern he could be their Ribery replacement potentially but what would be the attraction for him to Germany? He would have around 5-10 actual matches a year in the champions league and in the league they're rarely asked questions. At least in Spain he has the climate but does he get in to the Madrid team? Can you imagine if he did and after one bad performance the booboys were out his confidence would be shattered and we all know the effects of that.

Can you imagine if he did and after one bad performance the booboys were out his confidence would be shattered and we all know the effects of that. The CIES Football Observatory has just published its bi-annual list of the 100 players with the highest transfer values across the top-flights of England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It is calculated on an econometric model by their research team from analysis of over 1,500 paid transfers since 2010 and reads as follows:- 1. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) - £185million 2. Neymar (Barcelona) - £113m 3. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) - £96m 4. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) - £84m 5. Harry Kane (Tottenham) - £67m 6. Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) - £66m 7. Antonine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) - £65m 8. Luis Suarez (Barcelona) - £64m 9. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) - £60m 10. Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) - £60m 11. Anthony Martial (Manchester United) - £58m 12. Paul Pogba (Juventus) - £57m 13=. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) - £54m 13=. Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool) - £54m 15. Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich) - £52m 16. Robert Lewandowski (Bayern) - £51m 17. Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) - £51m 18. Romelu Lukaku (Everton) - £50m 19. Diego Costa (Chelsea) - £48m 20. Paulo Dybala (Juventus) - £46m 21. Isco (Real Madrid) - £46m 22. Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea) - £44m 23. Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli) - £43m 24. James Rodriguez (Real Madrid) - £43m 25. Toni Kroos (Real Madrid) - £41m 26. Marco Verratti (PSG) - £38m 27. Mesut Ozil (Arsenal) - £38m 28. Sergio Busquets (Barcelona) - £37m 29. Mauro Icardi (Inter) - £37m 30. Koke (Atletico Madrid) - £36m Okay, the list could easily be dismissed as mere snapshot-in-time speculation, but if Edin does want out and this is used as a benchmark for the type of deal that might be cobbled together, the permutations appear endless. For instance, if we are going to deal with Real in isolation, my preference would be to hand over £1m and take Bale and Isco in return. Spreading the net wider and assuming Roman could be persuaded to really push the financial boat out, Bale and Lewandowski for £6m seems like pretty good business to me as well! .
January 7, 201610 yr 21. Isco (Real Madrid) - £46m 22. Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea) - £44m I don't know what criteria they used, but it must be flawed if they still value Cesc at £44m. Do they actually watch the players play ?
January 7, 201610 yr I remember seeing something like this last year, that one was manly based on contract length and contract size along with accolades and transfer history of the player, remember form is temporary.Since we bought Fabregas for £30m he has won the BPL, Carling cup and the 2nd most assists by a single player in a season and still has 3 and a half years on a very lucrative contract at the end of last season i think he was "worth" around £50m so it has dropped.
January 7, 201610 yr I don't know what criteria they used, but it must be flawed if they still value Cesc at £44m. Do they actually watch the players play ? I think this list is Bullsh*t. Cesc 44m is nonsense.Hazard is not 96m player, no way. He should be around 55m - 60m. Edited January 7, 201610 yr by Michael440
January 7, 201610 yr I agree, I do think many of those valuations are way off - pure conjecture. That said, interesting to note that Lukaku is valued higher than Costa, which on this seasons form is probably right. Edited January 7, 201610 yr by Nibs
January 7, 201610 yr interesting to note that Lukaku is valued higher than Costa, which on this seasons form is probably right. Yes but if that's the case than Hazard shouldn't be on this list.

But surely it's about the players capability to perform on the pitch in the future that influences the value, not what he has done in the past ? Otherwise successful players coming to the end of their career with a 2-3 year contract left to run will be valued way too high ? Edited January 7, 201610 yr by coco
January 7, 201610 yr One bad season and fans want to ditch him In my opinion i would choose Hazard over Bale any day. People forget Hazard carried us last season while getting the crap kicked out of him without ever moaning complaining reacting. He also was never given the chance to fully express his creative side with far too much emphasis placed on his defensive sgame. Last season he not only dominated teams attaching wise but had defensive responsibilities which curbed this full creative expression. Watching Real and Barca both Ronaldo and Messi do not carry those same defensive responsibilities 80 percent of the time they just walk about until the team wins the ball back. They do press from the front but once the play transitions into the their final third they dont chase back something Hazard had to do last season yet was still the best player in the league. What am trying to say is given the same creative freedom and license as Messi and Ronaldo I have no doubt Hazard can be absolutely devastating his centre of gravity is so good , his strength at holding up the ball his ability to just glide pass defenders is only better by Messi. I don want another Lukaku, Mata KDB situation. Hazard deserves a bad season with us.
January 8, 201610 yr The last sentence is interesting. What do you suggest if HE wants out, like Lukaku and KDB? Edited January 8, 201610 yr by TheChelseaBlues
January 8, 201610 yr But surely it's about the players capability to perform on the pitch in the future that influences the value, not what he has done in the past ? Otherwise successful players coming to the end of their career with a 2-3 year contract left to run will be valued way too high ? Contract size was suppose to mean the length remaining on the contract as well as the actual wage. Sorry for not making that clear More so the total value of the contract remaining for instance a 2 year remaining on a £150,000 a week contract has a similar weight to 3 years remaining on a £100,000 a week contract, Not sure whether price drastically drops when a player gets in the last year 6 months of there contract but as we saw with David de Gea this isn't always the case.
January 8, 201610 yr Disreagard the post above hadn't read your response properly, early hours of the morning and all. But surely it's about the players capability to perform on the pitch in the future that influences the value, not what he has done in the past ? Otherwise successful players coming to the end of their career with a 2-3 year contract left to run will be valued way too high ? Yeah I get your point I wasn't saying this was overly accurate but I'm sure who ever wrote the model probably considered this and will have put something that remedies this into the model (or atleast I would have) but even still it should work reasonably well for younger players who aren't coming to the end of their careers. In any case it would be poor from a financial point of view to get yourself in a contract situation where that is the case players shouldn't really be on a huge contract during that time period where they might lose there legs, hence our 1 year policy for players over 30. Prime example of this though is Rooney who looks to be on a downward trend and is still on a ridiculous contract. But you will notice Rooney has dropped of the lists and is now out of the top 100. Suggesting this fail safe is in place. Edited January 8, 201610 yr by PedroMendez
January 8, 201610 yr Also thought I should probably add this here as in my eyes it is purely nonsense but'Manchester United have switched their summer sights to £65m Eden Hazard after giving up on signing Gareth Bale. (Daily Star)'so previously Real Madrid have been "quoted" to be interested in signing Hazard for £100m and they also have extra bargaining power with players like Bale and Isco who could potentially being offered in some sort of switch (hence the thread name). So why on earth would we entertain the prospect of A. Sending him to a rival. Which if it were to be the case should add on a huge chunk of value.B. For a much lower price than his theoretical value, especially with Real Madrid so keen and PSG with the spending power to really bump up the price.C. Sending him to a club who won't have anything to offer us in return. (maybe Schniderlin who has just signed, Mata who hasn't really hit the heights since leaving and Luke Shaw who is perennially injured)D. A club to which Hazard probably wouldn't move to. They also are not in the top four, currently not even in the CL and in the city of Manchester which is much worse than London and who are a club who play a much more boring brand of football then we do which is supposedly one of his reasons he wants to leave,I'd off a very simple 2 words if they sent this in as a bid,F off or double it and we might listen to your offer. To me this story is either just BS. or Chelsea upping the price for PSG and or Real Madrid to show more parties are interested or Hazards agent trying to do the same or Man U trying to unsettle Hazard. Most likely BS though as I can't imagine either side would entertain this. Edited January 8, 201610 yr by PedroMendez
January 8, 201610 yr The last sentence is interesting. What do you suggest if HE wants out, like Lukaku and KDB? They left because they weren’t getting played and it’s now showing that was a huge mistake. If hazard wants to leave it’s because he believes the Fans have turned on him because they believe he got Jose sacked and why would you stay if the fans don’t support you. No one knows what went on behind the scene but if we let this guy go it will be a bigger disaster that the three i mention before. The fans need to realise the media doesn’t like Chelsea and will do everything to try and upset to club, fans and players. Pitting the fans against players was something the media tried but the fans that turned up to the last couple of games seem to have gotten their sense back and see what is truly happening. I will finish on this when we signed this guy it was huge coupe as the big guns were after him don’t let that go to waste and i believe the club has no intention of letting him go anywhere Edited January 8, 201610 yr by Brutos

January 9, 201610 yr I'd refuse to sell. Make him give us one more season to get back into Europe. I wouldnt, if he hands in a transfer request and we decline it, not only will we most likely see a drop in form, his contract will also shorten, if we want to get close to that 100m for him we will need to sell soon. I do hope though that this is all a load of tripe and he re-discovers his form and goes on to play for chelsea for years.

I do hope though that this is all a load of tripe and he re-discovers his form and goes on to play for chelsea for years. You could do a similar sort of situation to David de Gea in which you offer him a new contract in which there is a reasonably high £100-120m buy out clause that activates after one season or if we reach the CL etc. This will force him to keep his playing levels up to keep the interest in him, shows we can't be walked over, keeps the fee for him very high and allows him time to re evaluate whether he wants to be at the club long term with CL football a new manager and playing style it might just be enough for him to want to stay. This is all assuming he wants to leave which is just hear say. I expect to see a much improved second half of the season from him as he has still been beating players for fun (yes since the Leicester game he has seemingly not enjoy the physical side of the game and has picked up a few niggles but would you enjoy being fouled every time you get the ball) and its just the final ball/shot/decision that has been letting him down, which to me looks more a confidence issue than a lack of effort or wanting to be here. Everton seem to be doing alright with stones, and liverpool did alright with suarez. Unless it we get bale in return, I would turning down all cash offers until we are in a better position to attract a suitable replacement.
