June 21, 201610 yr Spain for me. The Balkans and Eastern Europeans can all f**k off as far as im concerned.
June 21, 201610 yr I think Spain will win. Wouldn't mind Croatia but I went for a 2-1 Spain win in the company betting contest. In the other game it has to be the Czech Rep for me, no way will I support the Turks. Edited June 21, 201610 yr by undertow
June 21, 201610 yr Spain for me. The Balkans and Eastern Europeans can all f**k off as far as im concerned. That's one down but what about the other game? Czech Rep is Central Europe and Turkey is mostly Western Asia...
June 21, 201610 yr Best of luck to you lads tonight! It'd be fantastic for the Republic to somehow play the North in the knockouts (if we could manage to beat Italy) Do you think there's a realistic chance to beat Italy? Conte is reportedly going to field a very weak team. Trying to convince my husband to take a few hours off work to be a patriotic Irishman.
June 21, 201610 yr I just can't get used to that waterpolo cap one of the Croatians is wearing. Give me Cech's scrumcap anytime.
June 21, 201610 yr So Roy Hodgson wanted the team to visit the Somme to lay wreaths, but the FA overruled him because he would be too tiring. Meanwhile, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy spent today playing golf. Who knows how the rest of them are spending it *cough Jack Wilshere cough*.

June 21, 201610 yr if it's true that the FA overruled that, it is an absolute disgrace F***ing hell. Shameful.
June 21, 201610 yr F***ing hell. Shameful. England's next match is on Monday 27 June, which coincidentally is the start of the week running up to the Somme centenary and they can't squeeze this in? Maybe they've an important ping-pong competition to finish or the crazy golf league. Time to sack the FA suits who decided this.
June 21, 201610 yr if it's true that the FA overruled that, it is an absolute disgrace It's true. Credit to Hodgson for trying to arrange the trip. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/07/euro-2016-somme-memorial-row-as-players-excluded-from-wreath-lay/ http://www.newsweek.com/sport-england-euro-2016-467308

The young men in that football squad, who live extremely privileged lives might well have learned much from that visit and who knows, might their passion for playing for their country have been strengthened? Perhaps the reality of the scale of sacrifice made by British men from all our home nations would have had a real impact on those young men, changing their view of the world they inhabit forever.

Trying to convince my husband to take a few hours off work to be a patriotic Irishman. I think so, but maybe i'm just deluded and patriotic, but if they field a weakened side and we play at our best i can see us getting the win. They've topped the group already, so it's all on us. COYBIG
June 21, 201610 yr Dive by Croatian and the ref says no penalty, Silva dives and is given a penalty........pathetic. Edited June 21, 201610 yr by Scott Harris
June 21, 201610 yr wow - looks like we're going to see Spain v Italy in the next round. Wow. This opens up the opportunity for a less renowned side to make it far.
June 21, 201610 yr That's 0 points for me in the betting contest, again. I think I'll bet on Portugal to doom them...
