I think he'd even struggle if he only had 11 players to choose from.

He seems clueless.

Formation and tactics were only part of the problem, players beung unable to pass or cross were more of a worry. Wilshire was embarassingly bad and it had nothing to do with fitness. Henderson simply cannot cross a ball,he doesn't even look up before. Sturridge is an idiot show off, every time he gets it he does a little dance or step over or some other bollocks instead of moving it on and then gettig into space. Vardy starting was odd though when it was blatantly obvious slovakia were gonna sit deep and leave no space behind. This just meant we hit cross after cross onti skertls head.

Yes I agree, but why take Wilshire? Why start vardy? Most of it is on hodgeson in my opinion.

Spot on... If I was Woy I would have them in early this morning practicing crosses. He shouldn't have to.

Think on the whole though the all three teams have parked the bus. It's like watching Chelsea

How much is it Hodgson's fault as opposed to the players simply not caring enough and not being committed enough and/or not being good enough?

I can see them doing this to any manager.

Hodgson made the changes everyone wanted, and the results weren't any better. That suggests that maybe his original decisions weren't as bad as people thought.

If he hadn't made so many changes, I think the result would have been the same, and people would be upset that he didn't make more changes.

The striker changes are the ones everyone wanted, but the midfield ones aren't. Rooney was our best player in the first two games and would have had absolutely no trouble controlling the game against Slovakia. I can kinda see why Roy put Wilshere in - to see how he fares when we're likely to qualify anyway, and it's the kind of game you'd expect him to dominate and control - which he didn't.

I thought Henderson was quite good in the first half, tailed off a little in the second. Would like us to play a diamond with Dier/Rooney/Henderson and Alli at the tip of the diamond if he's comfortable there - not seen enough to tell.

We don't need to practice crosses, just never pick Henderson again.

It's bound to be tough in this tournament, the level of football has not been very high, but their is not a lot between any of the teams, and with the new rules changes on qualifying from the group stage, almost every team is still in it and fighting for their livelihoods.

So you're bound to get plenty of bus parking, I don't blame them, it's up to us to expect this and have a plan b,c,d,e.

Bilic was spot on last night when he said it's better to have someone like Andy Carol come on at the death if your going to start pumping the ball into the box, not Harry Kane who virtually never gets used as a late sub for club or country.

Ronaldo will never be considered one in the greatest of all time. That is an insult to pele, Messi Maradona, cruyff, etc. They are comfortably a level above Ronnie.

Ronaldo is a great goal scorer, as was Muller, no one would put Muller up with the best of the best. Ronaldo is a great goal scorer but in recent years is not a great footballer.

Sadly this forum has a lot of Ronnie fanboys who are blind to the facts. Even though Ronaldo was poor in almost all the big games RM played last season, and actually weakens Portugal, because he can score a hat trick against a weak team, when RM are already winning. Ronnie scores a lot of goals but last season almost all his goals had no impact on the outcome of the game. Any top striker, if they were made the main man at RM should score for fun. Ronaldo was amazing at United, and in the first few years at RM, but he is half the player he once was.

^^^ word salad

I love when people say Ronaldo isn't world class or one of the greatest as he hasn't done it 'in big games' then bring up Pele, who never left the Brazilian league in his twilight years and was surrounded by some of the greatest player ever I'm a fantastic Brazil squad.

Lucy Hannah is the 3rd oldest person in history. She was born in 1875 and died in 1993 at the age of 117 years, 248 days. Since Hannah's death, there have been 29 people who have held the title of "world's oldest living person" who never lived as long as Hannah did. One person died at the age of 113 and was the world's oldest living person at the time.

Lucy Hannah never held the title of world's oldest living person despite living as much as 4 years longer than recent title holders.

Why? Unfortunately for Lucy Hannah, her life completely overlapped with that of Jeanne Calment, the oldest living person in history (age 122 at death).

This isn't a random off topic post, if you get the point I'm making about current footballers.

Big game for the Green and White army tonight!!

Hoping to leave work around 4 and hit the pub

Best of luck to you lads tonight! It'd be fantastic for the Republic to somehow play the North in the knockouts (if we could manage to beat Italy)

This is outstanding, what the euros should be all about!

Germany's finishing has been worse than England so far

I have said it a few times during the tournament, and i'll say it again, why are so many players hitting it straight at the keeper ?

I always remember one bit of advice I heard on TV back in the 80's, it was Gary Lineker, and he said "I always try to aim for the post, 50/50 it goes in"
