A mate of mine who supports Arsenal said to me before the season started that we'd win the league. I didn't believe him at all, infact I laughed and said I'd be happy if we were top 4. I thought a cup would be nice too. Well the team have surpassed my expectations it's fair to say.

I totally thought it would be City and United with Arsenal third and that we'd be battling Liverpool and Spurs for that 4th spot.

Funny that an Arsenal fan could think that whereas we were only thinking top four!

thought CFC would be on the Cusp of the Top 4, but I did feel CFC had edge due to not playing in Europe - manure were mainly interested in showing the world how to dab - I did believe Citeh had the best team money could buy - glad I didn't take that theory to the bank

Speaking of not playing in Europe, I have not missed it one bit this season.

I'm speaking the obvious but, unless you win something, it's a drain on resources. There's lots of arguments for being in the CL or EL but, on balance, I'd rather we had some domestic success first.

Not lying - I missed the Big European Nights - whether it was UCL or Europa, I liked seeing CFC playing in those types of matches - many chants have been made due to the accolades on these nights

It's not that for me, I just think it's lost its allure over the years. The CL has become a collossal bore.

just think, we would never have Wayne Bridge as a Hero if it wasn't for European Nights - That night in Nou Camp or that night in Munich - come on now those are some exciting events for this club & I will cherish them like my wedding day or the day I walked the stage at U of O - of course that comes w/ major downers like the two losses to PSG or that night in Moscow (I will never go there)

Oh I'm not talking about what happened in Europe before but I think for the past few years the CL has lost some of its allure. Maybe it's because we won it in 2012 so it doesn't feel as important but on the whole I think for years the CL has dropped in quality.

One of my favorite highlights of my CFC fandom was being able to sing to the Stoke City fans, who shouted 'Who are you' & the reply of the Stamford Bridge faithful (including myself) was, 'we knew who we are - European Champions - That is who we are!!!!' Never ever thought I would say that about CFC let alone to sing that chant - May 19th, 2012 is right there w/ my Wedding Day & my Graduation from College - unforgettable memories that sometimes brings tears to my eyes if I dwell too long about those topics - To each their own but I love European Nights

I want all the tedious northern clubs to go down. So hull, sunderland and boro would be ideal. Brighton get promoted along with reading, palace stay up and so do swansea. It means we don't have to travel up north much next season. It's grim up north

As I said im not talking about what's been before. Im talking about what the competition has become. Who knows maybe when we're back in it next season I'll change my tune but I remember even the last two we were in I wasn't bothered about it.

Take your point. The final seems to be some combination of the same 4 or so teams every season. What the competition needs is for the English club to rise to the occasion to freshen things up. I believe we can do that next year with the right additions in the Summer.

On a personal level I love doing European aways and so am really looking forward to a trip or two with the boys!

I don't think the move for BT has helped, I find their coverage very amateur and they need some actual decent co commentators. It almost feels like when it's in BT that it's forgotten about in someways too, people I talk to at work aren't even really aware of what's going on in it anymore.

IMO its the the group stages that make some of it tedious... once the knockout stages start for it is when it really counts.

Yeah you might be right, we've even seen teams (English teams especially rest players) for PL matches throughout the group phase. I think clubs want the CL money but they aren't as bothered about progressing unless they reach the latter stages with the risks of resting players.

Seeing Brighton piss away the Championship title in epic fashion has me worried. Surely we couldn't f**k it up that much...right?

You will get over the line, I can see it in your managers eyes, Keep the faith offside.

The atmosphere at the Etihad always gets called out and rightly so but how poor is the atmosphere at Anfield today? They get praised for their atmosphere but the only ground in the Prem which can hold it's head high is Selhurst in my opinion.

Anfields atmosphere is a myth.

They have a big karaoke with lots of flags pre-game...that's it.

Was there when we won the last time and the atmosphere was lacklustre. Granted it was a 12.45 kickoff but even so, given the hatred I would have expected much more. Barely even heard the 'No 'Istoree' song.

I agree - I think the competition should be one game, extra time and penalties, it would make it more exciting to watch....the two legs makes the away team in the first leg set up too defensively in the fear cf conceding a goal.

Newcastle under Benitez do dish up some good, attacking football, I've enjoyed watching them play.

oh you like it now, but wait until he comes to the prem he'll be serving up sh*t defensive football week in, week out no doubt ha!
