So tell me how every Utd player knew if they dare went Hazard they would get booked? Hazard must of known how easy he went down. Did Smalling call everyone over for a team bonding session just to let everyone know? Of course he didn't. Only Smalling and Jones knew even if it is true. You think Herrera would of stuck a leg out if he knew?

That is BS refereeing if it's true and if thats what Oliver said it's pointless as for it to be take the right effect you would need to let every Utd player know or give Smalling 2mins to run round and tell everyone. Inconsistent refereeing and there was much worse fouls in the second half which went unpunished.

So you wanted the ref to pick up a megaphone and announce his assessment to all 11 United players or what? Whose fault is it that Smalling didn't communicate this to the rest of his team mates? They clearly wanted to keep going with the dirty tactics. Besides, Herrera was only a few yards from the prior incident. Whether it was Herrera getting sent off or Valencia or Rojo, somebody in red deserved to see red. You can't stop whining about it now.

Thought we outplayed them all over the park. That dummy/turn by hazard on smalling was something else. If he finished that off with a goal I would argue that it would have been better than his effort vs Arsenal.

well done lads, onto Wembley now!

How is the PL even comparable to the double?

but seriously, we can lose to Man City in the league and win the league. We can lose to both city and united in the league and we still would be favourites to win. Lose to united and we don't win the fa cup.

Do you remember how many FA cups chelsea has won? I dont. But I do remember each PL and thats why UNTIL and UNLESS its mathematically done, PL is the main priority. Cups like FA has significance only for the winners, no one else.

We totally outclassed United yesterday. Dont know how massive a difference would Ake for GC and Zouma for Azpi would have made. Specially against an attack force that is missing Zlatan, Rooney, Martial.

Not really, the first half Chelsea only created a chance from a corner and some Hazard magic. So Mourinhos tactics was actually very good.He doubled up on Hazard and it worked. Not really sure what you mean. Chelsea just edged the first half but Utd started well. Not sure what some people expect, if you attack Chelsea you get punished on the break. Everyone knew they would try to ruffle Chelsea and the games at Stamford Bridge.

Without the sending off (lampard said it wasn't a sending off) the second half would of been very interesting.

Sigh. Here you go again. What is wrong with you?

As a Chelsea fan, do you want the win or an "interesting" game? You keep going on about this being an interesting game without the sending off. Is that what you want to see? Our players getting hacked to pieces, an interesting game that we perhaps lose and a happy Mourinho who wins plaudits?

After the sending off yeah. They started the game better than we did, but as is the usual way our games go lately, we ceded a lot of possession but when we did attack looked a lot more threatening.

Wow, you are even spouting the same nonsense as Jose!

Smalling got a talking to when JONES fouled HAZARD and if it wasn't clear to Herrera that the message was not about fouling Hazard in general (it was clear to most of us), Herrera is extremely dense (something which I always suspected).

All depends on the definition of 'better' really. They were busier than us, pressing high, closing down (kicking) our most influential players quickly, created next to nothing though, may have forgotten  something but I can't remember a real chance they had until Rashford's one on one with Tibo.

They were gassed two thirds in, having 10 men didn't help but I really don't think it would have made a difference playing at that tempo after a Thursday night game in Russia.

Please someone ban this Ernie_red Jose funboy!

He's embarrassment to Chelsea community on these boards.

I'm reading his posts in this thread and at times I had to check to see if I wasn't on Redcafe. f**king hell. :face_palm:

He's being a c**t but that's no reason to ban him. Different opinions should be welcome sometimes, even if we don't agree. Let's not turn this place to an absolute sensitive echo chamber like RAWK.

What a moment that was. Everyone was up out of their seats (bar the couple of Utd supporters sitting next to us in the West Stand Upper!). Only saw it the once at full speed - has anyone got a clip of it? Hazard was brilliant, as was Conte. I get more and more concerned with Costa though - complete passenger last night.

Great to beat Utd again and to dominate them as we did, although it was nervy with the slim one goal lead and was worried they would nick an undeserved equaliser and take it to penalties. Didn't join in with the boos for Mourinho but made sure we sang "Antonio" as loud as possible. We lnow who our man is now - cheerio Mourinho - better luck next time!!

Costa could have gotten himself a brace yesterday. Really, this should have ended 4-1.

Cheers Stim.

If that had gone in would have been up there with Joey Coie's goal against Utd at The Bridge.

Yes I do remember every fa cup win. I remember where I was for each of them, attending three (and one where we lost).

I also remember our double winning side very well. Our only double winning side.

Maybe the fa cup doesn't mean anything to you, that's fine. To 90% of Chelsea fans though it does mean something.

And we've won the league already, there's no chance of us losing it. If we played a weakened side in the fa cup until it was guaranteed mathematically then in my mind this league win would have a bit of an asterix over it (it already does a bit because we didn't have to play European football).

But additionally ask Leicester and Liverpool how playing a weakened side in the fa cup panned out for them with league results. Ask Sunderland how a 2 week break did for their league form. Players need to play and to win.

I cant believe I am having this conversation.

Don't agree that the league is wrapped up but agree that both are very important!

@didierforever FA Cup doesn't mean much? I'm afraid you're in the minority, pal. Oldest cup in world football. Still a very valuable trophy. If the FA Cup is only valuable to the winners then how do you suppose the winners get the trophy? By taking it seriously, no? Also, what would that leave the 19 other teams who won't win the league if we're saying only the winners get some value? Or does this somehow change when it's league football?

There have only been about 6 teams in the history of world football to win a treble. United are the only English team to have done it. You think they could have entered that exclusive club without the FA Cup? Knock it off mate.

Some thoughts:

JM's plan was clear- to hack at Hazard. He knows as well as anyone that he is our main threat.

Disgusting antics from Jones, Herrera (who should have been sent off at least twice before this season!!) and Rojo. The latter needs to be punished by the FA.

Moses was unbelievably poor in the first half but grew into the game.

Alonso had an off-night.

Matic and Azpi seem to have a love for row Z. Stop shooting! You're not Lampard.

Kante is unstoppable, unplayable. What a player. Player of the year.

Costa is worrying me. He should stick to goal-hanging- his general play is diabolical. But he scores goals in the main- I just wish he had buried that header.

Don't forget the tap in Willian carved out for him too. It was harder to miss than score and he somehow missed it. Any kind of contact at all and it would have gone in. Should have gotten an easy brace.

If we have already won the league then lets play aina, kenedy, ake, michy and the rest for the rest of the game. What hogwash!!!

Listen mate, if you just want titles, fair enough. I do too to some extent. I still maintain that playing ake, zouma and NAT would not have hurt our chances for a qualification. I did not ask for kenedy to be started or aina or musonda. I wanted a proper attack as we simply dont have any replacements whatsoever. I wanted a mid of Kante/matic-Nat as i think he is more than an able replacement. Along with a defence of azpi-Zouma-JT-Ake-Alonso. Playing this team is hardly "disrespecting" the fans/throwing away the cup. If we had played this team, I feel we would still have gone through. So dont make it sound like I asked the U-19s to be played.

As for pool, their first team got beat by swansea at anfield. They have been dire for the past 2 and a half months. Dont make them out to be the benchmark.

I don't understand the first part...

but if we hadn't played the best defence in the league against united then it would have given them a boost. Playing a shaky looking zouma and JT and a player who had a few good games for bournemouth? Wow. Their dressing room would have celebrated. It's all anyone would have talked about and if we had then gone on to lose (and that is possible, united are a great side) then it's all anyone would have spoken about afterwards. What a great confidence boost for players that we want in the first team eventually and what knock on would it have had in the league? How big would morale have been for this weekend?

Conte agrees with me and that's all I care about.

Great. If Zouma and a player who had a few good games for bournemouth cant handle rashford and zlatan/rooney/martial less united, then how the hell do you expect them to be playing as squad players next season? That is my point. Atleast try to understand before arguing mate.

Also, what a massive morale booster for young ake to be called back from a very successful short loan to be sitting on the sidelines, playing with his thumbs. I am sure THAT is what players need to go from youth players to first teamers, not actual game time and game experience, right?
