Which striker do you think Chelsea should turn to next?

I personally think we can afford it although I agree we're more likely to sign Morata and Llorente (who worked together at Juve).

My view is that Sanchez is gettable if we are willing to pay. A lineup of Hazard, Morata, Sanchez or even Hazard, Michy, Sanchez pretty much would make us European contenders immediately.

I'd rather we stuck with Bathsyaui than sign a random backup like Llorente. Bats may not be the finished article, but he's shown he knows where the net is, he can score when it counts, and he didn't kick up a fuss and got on with things when he wasn't getting picked.

They're asking for 80m. For a player who's got 1 year left on his contract, they can do one. Nobody's paying 80m for 28 year old Sanchez with 1 year left on his contract.

You want us to stick with one relatively unproven forward? We were light up front as it is, and Costa can pretty much be wiped from the equation since he's already gone mentally.

We need a ready made forward to go, Belotti would be nice but not sure if he suits our style of play. There doesn't seem like a huge amount of available options.

The 1 year left is irrelevant. He will either resign or leave this window. 28 is also still young in my view. At least 4 good years left. He'd be worth 80m far more than Lukaku or any other on the market this summer.

Absolutely no chance he re-signs with Arsenal. He will either move this window or leave on a free next year when he can get huge wages PLUS sign on bonuses PLUS play for a team that'll actually compete.

As the rotation/backup i'd rather we stuck with him and gave him more of a chance, than loaning him out and buying someone else. We spent 30m on him, we may as well use him.

Agreed Zeta. He has massive potential and is still young. He is a bit of a poacher at the moment so he needs to continue to grow his game. But he can make it.

I certainly don't want to get rid of Batshuayi as he hit a little bit of form at the end of the season, but 100% we need to buy somebody we can't go into the season with one forward.

More like that donkey Llorente

Yep. Wouldnt surprise me. Would rather a top class talent like morata, sanchez, Aubemyang or belotti, but id be ok with this as long as michy is first choice.

Can't say 4 "good years" name me 5 top class forwards at 32/33, a defender can last longer and so can a CM, he relies on speed, the only player I have seen that can keep going is ronaldo because he is super athletic and it crazy condition, there aren't any others I can think of that rely on speed and agility like Sanchez that can keep going that long, if we call it 2 more good years, and by then he will be almost 31 (he is 29 in Dec) I think that's far more realistic

WE need a striker in addition to the 2 and I think Fernando will help and is available on the cheap. If your expectation is that instead of LLorente we need to sign Morata or other big name then you are right, but if ur expectation is not if we don't sign any big name then just roll with the 2 striker we have, then i will have to disagree with you.

Worth it in my opinion. Getting the player above all else was the objective.

Yeah I was being sarcastic as you asked if 87 mil was worth it when we are in dire need of a striker, after you have just spent 90 mil when in dire need of a striker.....

To be fair i think Sanchez will still be good even as he gets older. Think of Ronaldo, he looks after himself and i would think he will be at least 35 before he really starts to lose his edge. I see Sanchez as more of a Ronaldo than a Rooney, who completely lost it by the time he was 30.

Ronaldo slowed down on tracking back and started to focus more on his intelligent runs when approaching 30. Sanchez can be seen running like a headless chicken from time to time. The guy is great but that style of play is rarely feasible for a guy approaching 30 without affecting areas of his game.

Would love for him to prove me wrong if we sign him.

This, his style is based on speed and agility. That doesn't carry into the 30's
