Think you've gone out of your way to deny reality here. The fact that it's not on the club's official website doesn't make it false.

Lukaku:

Danilo was open to working with Conte until City came and matched Madrid's asking price. How is it you believe journos about Danilo's supposed stance but don't believe we made a bid for Lukaku?

Carlo himself confirmed that Conte spoke to him about Sanches after our preseason game with Bayern.

Not getting into the rest of your discussion with the other guy but I thought I'd point those out.

Just because the BBC twitter account puts it out there, doesn't make it true.  Danilo being "open to working with Conte" is nothing like there having been official interest and/or a bid for the player.  Conte talking about Sanches after a game means nothing more than a polite enquiry - again, nothing official and no bid.

The BBC Live twitter also "reports" a huge number of bids made by a huge number of clubs for a huge number - throw enough sh*t at a wall and some of it will stick.  I could create a twitter account and start posting my guesses as fact.  Sooner or later, I'm bound to get one right.  Doesn't mean I know anything more than you do about anything,

Well no, I thought we had bid though?  I'm working under the assumption they are choosing to sell to Spurs rather than us.  There's too much going on and I'm losing track! :face_palm:

No we haven't made a bid we've just had talks.

It doesn't make sense at all, we're supposedly after Llorente, Mahrez, Barkley and Drinkwater yet we're hearing nothing apart from the fact we aren't making bids.

We made a 14m bid and Spurs came in with 20m.

This is the 3rd time I can remember you discounting the BBC as a source. Every football fan in this country knows they're by far the most reliable when it comes to transfer stories. They don't throw any sh*t at the wall. That story was on their website as well and on the radio. You honestly sound out of touch there. Again, it's hilarious that you choose not to believe the BBC but believe the Danilo state of mind stories from wherever you heard it.

Loic Remy off to Los Palmas

Used to go on holiday there as a kid in the 80's bloody Germans with their towels on the sun loungers from the night before, oh yea loic Remy, forgot about that guy.

Bit of a transfer rumour guide for some of you on here just in case you still don't know where to look/who to trust courtesy of the fellas over at r/chelseafc

Think they've got it just about right.

I'd argue that Tancredi is in Tier 4 as well but other than that pretty spot on

I think people need to chill out. All the bids will be last minute. There are another 11 hours to go!

That is what a lot of pipz said at the start .... "transfer window has a long way to close" .... look where we are now

Definitely.

I cannot work out the logic.

  • Don't let any player over 30 have a deal longer than one year in order to keep the squad young and fit. Check.
  • Develop an academy of youngsters coming through that can save fortunes in the transfer market and take the club forward as they have been committed for longer, but then don't let them break through. Chelsea most successful academy over the last 5-6 years. Check.
  • Don't pay exorbitant agent fees over inflating player prices. Check.

So, in essence, older players are uncertain about us due to short term contracts, players in their prime are not attracted because the agents steer them towards the better personal deals and we can't develop any of our youngsters because we don't trust them enough and so we loan them out constantly or move them on.

How can Conte possibly work successfully with this model. It's ludicrous. If this gut is not properly backed and supported by the senior executives there must surely be a reckoning at some point.

..... nice ..... conflicting really ..... board sets up long term plan with short term goals ..... disfunctional really ..... let us prepare to not have any new players ..... we are strong if we are not in ucl ..... am wishing we are not ..... midway when all burns then we can expect conte to go ..... this already has happened

Sky Sports haven't been a relevant sourse for anything outside of clubs managed by old-school British managers for years now.

Anything accurate that they report usually comes a couple of hours after more credible and current sources have broken it. The Kaveh guy is a failed journalist. A couple of years ago he was their lawyer/finances type guy. Now he's nothing more than a gossip piece and for some reason feels entitled to randomly add his opinion from time to time.

  •

This applies only this strictly to players currently under contract who are over 30 only being offered one year extensions at a time.

It's not a blanket rule of never having a player over 30 under more than a years contract. For example, we would sign a 27/28 year old and give them a 4-5 year contract. I think if we sign Llorente it will be a two year contract.

3 minutes ago, Bobbywoodhogan said:

If we supposedly want Llorente why haven't we bid? He must surely be thinking Spurs want him more.

I think (and hope) it's because we know he wants to move to us, so other deals took priority like Oxlade-Chamberlain who probably needed a bit more work as he had other places he was happy to go.

It could also be a case of lining up the ducks in other places regarding Batshuayi, getting a move, loan or permanent sorted for him before signing off on Llorente.

BREAKING: Fernando Llorente will sign a two-year deal at Tottenham with the option of a further year. Fee between £11m and £14m
