He's had quite a few of them at Stoke. I have no idea if he would be good enough for us though, it's hard to say unless he is given a chance. It would be a risky signing if it happens, but it's not one i would be against.

I'll weigh in on the Butland vote, he's not an upgrade on Courtois, but I don't see him as much of a downgrade either.

I've lived with a Stoke fan who regularly praised Butland for saving them points weekly. I've watched enough of Stoke to know he's a solid all rounder, and could absolutely thrive in our squad. I don't see us being (realistically) linked with any truly top-tier goalkeepers, so it makes sense to be looking at good domestic options with Premier League experience. There's not many available that tick those boxes.

I think he'd be a good signing.

I am suprised we haven't at all considered Bulka. I know 18 is young to be the no.1 keeper, but I think i would rather that than Butland tbh. I can't say I am surprised with these links though, especially considering we were apparently looking at f**king Carroll and Crouch. It seems like the club have tightened the purse strings so much, you need scissors to undo it. People said the stadium not being built would be a benefit for our transfer dealings, well going by these rumours can we admit that's BS now?

We were never considering them as signings.

I’d take Butland if it means we can sign more outfield players.

Oblak would be great, but I feel it’s best for Chelsea to spend big money elsewhere. Fekir, Martial, Zaha etc.

Probably just after that barca game. There were calls for Cabellero to start ahead of him! 

Courtois comes across as an arrogant prick. However he is still an excellent goalkeeper, takes crosses better anyone, commands his area, he's a good shot stopper if not the best, and he's has decent distribution. 

If butland replaces him, I think it will open up some fans eyes, and they will realise how good he was for us. 

Courtois has burnt bridges now with the fan base, and it's a pity that he won't be looked back on fondly despite being a key member of a title winning sides. 

I'm hoping for Kepa personally, as I think he is potentially better than Courtois in most areas, and his distribution compliments sarri, and the way football is moving at the moment.

How many minutes of football have you seen Bulka play, honestly?

Thought it was strange how a few are calling for Bulka to be given a chance. I haven’t seen him before pre season and honestly I think it would be daft if we gave him starting spot.

He has looked impressive in pre season, but let’s put in perspective, Pickford looked impressive at World Cup too and he ain’t all that either.

He has had plenty good games for the youth team. However, it's true that Bulka will likely need a loan spell. I'm just not sold on Butland; he doesn't fill me with confidence.

This is not a dig at all but I am comparing it to my experience when you go from youth football to reserve football at semi pro level the difference is large when you go from youth team to first team at that level the difference is worlds apart. I don’t think people understand this unless you have played any sort of level of football. That’s why most guys need sending out on loan and only a very small percentage actually come straight into the first team unless they are built like men. It’s not football manager you can not just be thrown in and everything is fine. You need easing into a squad over a season. 

I read a lot on here that “well he’s played well for the youth team”. Our youth team win almost every game 3,4,5-0 It’s easy for them at the moment.
