Podcast with Matt Law recorded yesterday. He seems quite calm about the Boehley bid and that it shouldn’t be a problem. Boehley will likely complete by the end of the week.

Yeeeahhh. How many times have we heard this.

If Ratcliffe disrupted the process, what makes you think another mystery bidder would come and stop the process again?

Tom Crotty, director of communications + corporate affairs at INEOS, has confirmed to me this morning that Raine have told Jim Ratcliffe that his 11th-hour bid for Chelsea is not currently part of the process, but has also confirmed Ratcliffe is refusing to give up. Story later

I want to know why Ratcliffe is going this now. When we are about to close. Why?

Wonder if Marina will decide to stay:

Not a good photo of them above, looks like she is refusing his hand.

Purchasers will want Marina to stay as she knows the status with players contracts and has contacts abroad.

Govt most likely will want both gone and if they don't you can bet the media will ask the question and Labour will jump on it as they are attacking the Tory govt at every opportunity.

The government cannot kick out Bruce and Marina unless they have direct ties to the Kremlin. I mean, Bruce is an American lol.

Nah, All you have to be is Russian, Guilty from a trial by media. Americans and Russians do loads of biz all the time and didn't sanction roman!

According to Sky Sports News, Jim Ratcliffe's bid has been rejected out of hand by the Raine Group, but he still remains interested.

My guess is that raine are acting like an authority with if you believe our gov an enemy's wealth and Ratcliffe knows its all a scam/got a stink so he's bypassed the bankers he doesn't like and gone to everyone but them!

Really hard to know the facts tbh, Could well be like others suggested that roman doesn't actually want to sell it to boehly but raine are forcing his hand and will want paying either way etc, Perhaps the powers that be forced him to hand it to raine and he didnt choose them christ knows now!

Just make sure the cannons are loaded and the fuses are dry, Shes not sunk yet!

It's all turned into a nightmare fiasco.

I don't even know what to think any more.

Just hope Roman knows what he's doing, if he actually is in control of the outcome. Who even knows?

The Boehly team are confident to get this done at the end of the week. Or, so they say. It's down to RA. He has to do something soon, otherwise it's the end of CFC.

Yes, he seems to be constantly moving the goalposts so the sale gets delayed. Does he think he might end up not having to sell? Surely not?

Ive got the feeling you get when you know chelsea are going to win with the whole saga, If the sale is held up the gov will absolutely have to extend the licence otherwise it will be them not roman who tanks the club and that will look terrible to anyone with some self respect and independent thought across the footballing world esp here in the uk, I mean the worry i have is that the Tories don't really care now, They're probably going to get rucked out moving forward even if the other option is even worse!

Then you know theyll use the old 'russian man bad' technique and blame it on anyone but themselves meanwhile were up sh1ts creek without a paddle.

To take any club public takes a year and most sales 6 months so it did feel from the start with the first lot of deets that the gov are just playing with the club knowing this kind of stuff was to come and it really is a direct attack to dismantle the club without bad optics so they can say 'look what we did'

Mental!

They maybe but all this is doing is ratifying a bidder the bank has chosen, then its up to roman and then the gov to tick off so its real stinky now and on the edge of tit for tat squabbles!

Roman gotta be careful, These grubby richboys will nick the club off him if he gives them the ammo

No matter what's happening, I'm certain RA loves the club and will do right for the club. No matter what's going on behind the scenes, he will put the club first. Some may argue he wants his money back, I don't fault that if that's the case but a man like that, his passion for the club and the fortunes he has amassed or what he's worth (never mind current sanctions), won't let the club cease to exist on account of £1.5b that he doesn't get.

Yeah I would of agreed, But Roman now insisting on his slice (even though I personally didnt realise the gov actually want to just flat out rob the bloke by not even allowing him the money he paid for the club in the first place back etc) has given things an air of uncertainty esp with ratcliffe perking up!

The way you would think it was being done was that the 3b original asking price included the money to pay off the debts (essentially roman just uses the sale money to pay off the loans to us and then sends the other 1.5 to a Ukraine foundation, Simples!) Also makes sense because raine and roman both wanted a cash sale...

Looks like roman wants to wipe the debt and take 1.5 which by the courts is only right and proper so a bid of over 4b would explain how the ukraine foundations gets a truck load, However ratcliffes bid looks weird as part of his offer was inclusive of spending on stadium and players...

Stinky money mare!

Jim Ratcliffe has seen his 4.25 billion-pound bid for Chelsea dismissed by Raine Group.

“We’ve been rejected out of hand by Raine, but we will keep reminding people we are still here,” Tom Crotty, a director at Ineos.
