Let’s not forget as well FIFA changed the loan rules to stop clubs like ours from loaning out lots of players who will never feature for parent club but are being developed to sell. Clearfake are exploiting the loophole in those new regs by purchasing a lot of under 21 players who are exempt. Same with EPL squad - only 25 players can be registered but as many U 21 s can be used to supplement that limitation.  Club can loan up to 6 players older than 21 and loan out as many  21 and under as they please as there is no limit.

Imagine how maresca feels when he sees a more detailed version of that list on his desk every morning. Then he has to set up a training plan for fitness, one for tactics then watch them all for enough time to pick a first eleven, let alone a squad!

Bear in mind the loan rules. I think 9 in that list would count towards it and we can only loan out max 6 in that category outside English League.

Loan rules are for 21 and over. No loan limit rules for the kids.

I believe you can have as many 20yr olds and under on loan anywhere as they like.

 

As much as we hate to give them credit I doubt the owners will end up stuck with players in limbo, they are too smart for that. Also probably a reason why they prefer under 21s, a lot more leeway with the rules when stockpiling.

This is why I have to print it out and cut out all the names and create 3 or 4 piles to remember homegrown, 3 keepers, under 21, etc...proper craft project with the kids. Haha

I hadn’t looked at the age issue in terms of either the PLrequiremnts or indeed the more challenging UEFA squad rules.

Matt Law was talking about the number of games the club was expecting in 24/25 and that will require a sizeable squad but on the flip you have to be mindful that when the window shuts I doubt there will be a desire to have too many players .
