Chelsea v Spuds (PL) Sat 22nd Feb 12:30 GMT

Giroud, Barkley, Mount as attacking options.

Feels like almost every PL-team can field a stronger attack then that one.

Last chance for Giroud to prove himself as a starter.

It's a bit unfair to expect too much considering his lack of play time, but I am genuinely glad he is starting today.

I would have personally played Tomori or Zouma over Dave.

It's more of a statement than anything, I don't trust Caballero at the back either but Kepa has been crap this season.

Making such statements is just not professional.

When Kepa is playing the way he is it's understandable, he needs a kick up the ass.

This lineup is odd, not having Willian start is just stupid. Plus is he just done with Kepa? Not sure why he’s still sticking him on the bench.

Kepa is probably off to Stoke in the summer :laugh2:

Where's the pace in that front 3?

Not starting Willian is a very odd decision, I have no idea how Barkley is playing.

Willian hasn't been great at all recently, he doesn't deserve to start.

Plus Alonso and James supporting when we go forward. Giroud will thrive on their crosses and support.

Haha and what the f**k has Barkley done ever for us? Remember last time Willian faces spurs? Tore their defense apart so you’re never going to convince me Barkley should be starting

I don't think we necessarily need pace up front today ... imagine we'll have most of the ball, so it's essentially 2 CAMs to join Giroud in the box as James and Alonso ping crosses in ?

Has Barkley been given the same opportunities as Willian, no.

Barkley given a run of games can give more to the team than Willian, who is well over his peak and declining, the same as Pedro.

Because he’s not a top player that’s why he’s not been given opportunities

I think Lamps is saying you need the points, you come out and play!

So I would expect our pressing game to be different today perhaps on the half-way line.

If so a good idea, whether it pays dividends we will see.

It looks very West Ham circa 2022

I thought he was a great player at Everton, injuries and not having a good run in the team haven't helped. Players like Willian and Pedro have been utter mince this season.

Everton isn’t chelsea and since he’s arrived I’ve never seen anything from him to suggest he’s going to be a great player for us. You understand players like Willian have kept him out because he’s not on that level. He may be getting old but I’ll take Willian everytime over Barkley and his six and half years at Chelsea have shown why.
